Money by Pink Floyd, 'cause I need money for the move to the Sunny Southeast, Wexford. Not much rock, like I have here in Dalkey, but the beach (one of the finest in Ireland) is two minutes walk away, three if I am carrying the kayak.

Hate to hear that about Linda, a voice to savor on her recorded past.

Robert Plant was my first concert ever at age 18 ... grew up on Led Zepplin...

Linda Ronstadt was my second concert ever, (two weeks following Robert Plant}, having grown up with her magnificent voice dancing in my ears under the influence of my mom and dad...
When I moved to Tucson, I went to nearly every show she did here in town...
I adore her... esp live. Her voice will be missed if she is no longer able to sing... but that voice will forever resonate in my head and heart...

comment lifted from another version of the above:

Dave Van Ronk had an anecdote about this song in his memoir. He had worked around an arrangement of this song when he was 15 years old. He thought about performing it, but decided to put if off for many years because he thought it would look silly for a 15 year old to sing a song like this. One day years later, he played his arrangement for Brownie. Afterwards, Dave asked him, "How old were you when you wrote that song?" Brownie replied "Oh, about fifteen."

Nobody has said it better than 0918Marlene, so it her own words:

Skydog got his musical inspiration from "horn" players. Not other guitarist's. He ADORED John Coltrane, & also Miles Davis, Bobby"blue" Bland & his good friend King Curtis. King played with Duane at Muscle Schoals studio w/ Aretha Franklin. His love of horns really shows in the song he did w/ Boz Scagg's & a great horn section on- Loan Me a Dime. He was only 22 at the time. And he's outrageous

Just finished with the Circle Jerks VI album, now spinning:

Testament's first album, The Legacy.

Good 'ol early Bay Area thrash metal. They never quite reached the level of Metallica or Slayer, but still great stuff.
