bro hooblie, that one works also.

Dedicating Comes A Time to Nicolette Larson, brought back memories of her music. Her career basically started covering, his song Lotta Love.

Her less than main stream music is the most memorable for me:

Nicolette Larson ≈ I Bid You Good Night

Nicolette Larson ≈ Only Love Will Make It Right

Neil Young ≈ Harvest Moon (unplugged)

Nicolette Larson & Astrid Young are backing vocalist. Larry Cragg obviously is skilled on the broom. Hard to Believe that it has been 20 years since this was made.

sorry little brother, i forget you weren't from the same region, where dialects are some times not easily transcribed. Here's a hint:

Steely Dan ≈ Your Gold Teeth

back to my intentions

Louisiana Red (Iverson Minter) ≈ Lonesome Train
American Folk Blues Festival 1980

here's another train by the same name; but on a different track.

The Meteors ≈ Lonesome Train

Hey Tobia, I like that one. With all this brother talk, I take it that he's Glen's either younger or older brother.

Speakin' of the pomatus of love. Steve Miller shame on you for not fessin' up on the lyric.

anyway, another famous slide riff for Susan

I wonder what happened to Billy Joe and Bobby Sue and MTV and music vids

(not Bobcat on maracas, not Shaffer on drums)

zb, which song did you like?

bro hooblie and i are related through cosmic dna; but you will have to get dr. Hartouni to explain how that happens.

I got a overall masters award for a 5k over the weekend; must have been a slow day for the 40+ gang.

Slide for susan?

Louisiana Red, Hubert Sumlin & Sunnyland Slim ≈ Please Mr. Carter
(American Folk Blues Festival 1980)

Ry Cooder ≈ Vigilante Man

Little Feat ≈ Apolitical Blues
Lowell George (slide guru) and guest Mick Taylor duel it out.

Little Feat ≈ Skin It Back & Fat Man In The Bathtub

oh yeah, does anyone know what a pomatus of love is? maybe he meant comatus(?) and it came out pomatus.

he played at Chastain Park a few years ago, a lot of acoustic slide and blew everyone away.

No problem with accolades any Tom Waits material.

Aretha Franklin ≈ I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You)

if you turn it up real loud it might draw d-know out.

"B" side:

Derek & The Dominos ≈ Have You Ever Loved A Woman

James Brown ≈ Something

(George Harrison's favorite cover (over 100 released) of his song.

James Brown ≈ Night Train

With foot dexterity like this, I would bet J.B. could have held the Nose speed record for at least a couple of years with the right partner.

↓I have the show he did in Boston on the night after MLK's death 5 April 1968

^My one and only live James Brown show was from that era and he did Night Train.

A part of the Leon Russell show I was chasing down yesterday - 1971

Steppenwolf .... July 2, 3, or 4, 1968 Fillmore Auditorium, San Francisco, California, U.S.A. - or Fillmore West August 27, 1968 - Who knows. Some controversy here.

This recording comes from the last Bill Graham 1960's show at the original Fillmore
Auditorium before he moved his shows to the Fillmore West. For three days on
July 2, 3, and 4, 1968, the line-up was CCR, IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY and STEPPENWOLF.
This recording comes from one of those nights.
Set List:
01. Your Wall's Too High
02. Hootchie Kootchie Man
03. Born To Be Wild
04. Desperation
05. Tighten Up Your Wig
06. Disappointment Number (Unknown)> Lost And Found By Trial And
Error> Hodge, Podge, Strained Through A Leslie> Resurrection
07. Baby Please Don't Go
08. The Pusher

From Youtube

Yes, I'd kill him with my Bible
And my razor and my gun.
