Sorry to be sad and non climb related, but many years ago I made a promise, that for every year of my life, at this time, I would tell someone about a small town called Vukovar, for which I held and I fired a gun to defend, for the first and last time in my life.
The people of Vukovar were good, the others were very bad. Only later did it become grey.

If -- thanking you for sharing about your tragic experience defending your home town. i recall watching a vid, not to long ago, about these men living in the UK who were from Croatia and who lived through that war. i am sorry you had to live through what you did. it makes me very sad. i imagine it was similar to what they experienced. i hope that you have picked up and moved on with new hope. i also hope that you realize your dream of climbing el cap some day. it hasn't changed much over the years, and it has been patiently waiting for you. thanks for the dire straits song. i hope we get to meet each other some day. in the meantime, may the good lord bless you! and welcome to supertopo!!
i am glad that you made that promise, to keep those memories alive. and i am glad that you shared it here and i will now learn and read as much as i can about Vukovar & Sinisa Glavesivic. i see that it was in 1991. 1800 lightly armed Croatian National Guard and civilian volunteers against 36,000 JNA & Serbian paramilitary. You were very brave, your people. I recall all of that happening and how painful for us to watch. I am glad you survived. i will continue to read more. please continue to share every year & continue to heal. peace!

I like to try to figure out these guy's formulas. This dude is a genius. I swear I can't stop a song once I start listening. He has a little hook or whatever that goes throughout but the songs make you feel like they're leading you somewhere. So it kind of feels like everything is slowing down when I listen to these songs. And I feel like I have to listen all the way through or else I'm going to wonder what was going to be next.
