Thanksgiving is upon us already!
The Super Turkey is spreading his tail feathers.
We are all turkeys on earth, but when we rise climbing above the earth's surface, yet still feel the tug of gravity, we feel like Super Turkeys.
I laugh with glee when I think of me, of us, on Thanksgiving Ledge or Thank God Ledge and I naturally think of tourons as just that, turkeys.
It's ingrained. It's Camp 4 bias of the worst sort. But I still crave the superiority. It's not complex. It's simple. I am better than they till I need or choose to depart my roost.
We may look silly to some, with all the clucking and running in a big brotherly group, following one then another. But it's nice to have a crowd to run with.
Thanks, My Lady, for the friendships.
And the gravy.
Boogie woogie was a deer.
Boogie woogie had no "ear."
Boogie couldn't boogie.
Now really, how could he?
splitter, there's always room at the top for the alpha and burning spear.
marlow, keep the mine going.
mouse, twinkies and thanksgiving? before or after the turkey?
zb,
Thanks for the Baldry. That used to be a staple on the early "underground" fm stations, before fm devolved the auto playlist mechanism.
Baldry was around playing with the stones before the stones gelled and part of the history of the english learning mississippi blues. he was also involved with elton john and bernie taupin. I believed he played a roll in saving Sir Elton's live after an attempted suicide.
That AB album was just the two brothers with butch trucks on the drums and Scott Boyer (of Cowyboy fame). They dissolved after that with Greg moving to L.A. to write music for the movies; while Duane put the rest of the brothers together. Included on that record was an early version of the song Melissa. I have or had that on vinyl.
I hope that wasn't wasted.
Lurrie Bell carries on where Carrie left off, and appropriate for a Sunday Morning sermon.
Lurrie Bell ≈ It's A Blessing
Lurrie Bell ≈ Don't Let The Drive
after church you can listen to this
Juke Boy Bonner ≈ Running Shoes
Juke Boy Bonner ≈ Gimme Some Boone's Farm
nita: will do on pictures. tell timid while he's lurking to post some of that jukebox history every once in a while; some of us folks can't seem to get to the campfires.
Alt-J has been "growing on me" also. i posted one 1-2 of their songs here a while back.
this song was my favorite (at that time)! heavy vid/message...
edit: they have a fresh & unique sound! very talented, imo!
can't say - yer welcome! i switched the vid from the studio version (same song) b'cuz the message is as enthralling as the song, imo!
it just seems to accent the song, give it even more depth/meaning. like their "Fitzpleasure" vid ... thought provoking!
Thanks Splitter, and thanks for that vid, their sound makes me pay attention in a good way. There seems to be a crisp/clairity thing going on that I like a lot.
