I'm not listening but I am singing. I just became aware of the fact that PapaJoto has the Michael Franti CD with the song "I know I'm not alone" (in a total political sense). The song gives me the chills. IF you have not seen Michael's DVD which goes by the same name you should.

"Goldfinger",
Sung by Shirley Bassey.
Composed, arranged, produced by John Barry.
Sides A & B -on *vinyl*.
Bawdy, assertive, dynamic: a thematic masterpiece.

Actually... eKat... that's not exactly the video. Before I go there I will say thank you so much for that link. The video is beautiful. Michael Franti is an amazing and beautiful man. Yes, if you buy all his music you will not regret it. He deserves your support in ways you may not be able to imagine.
The video I am talking about is a DVD he did. Michael visited Iraq, Israel and occupied Palestine - he brought his guitar. I was fortunate enough to see the release of the video. One night he did a Spearhead Jam. The next night he did a solo acoustic set after he showed us the video. It rocked my world. After the video I bought the DVD. Michael signed it. As I shook his hand and walked away I recall the shakti that ran through me as nothing less than consuming and amazing. One man can make a difference.
I just pulled out the DVD and I wrote a little note and put in in the front.
It reads:
"Please view this video and when you are done pass it along to someone else who you know that cares. I know Michael would want that. If I never see this again that's cool so long as it is being shared.
Om Shanti
nature"
The next time I walk into my yoga studio I'm going to leave this on at the front desk.

Pretty amazing stuff, this Camel. Great ax player with lots of emotion. Also consider the man I think may be the best guitar player in the world today. Barry Richman.

This is a local band I see basquing on the Promenade most evenings I'm there. The kid plays a mean cello, let me tell you.
