Nita was a lot of fun to meet, and work with, before and during the FaceLift. Andy likewise. Always cheerful and helpful, and positive. Nita also posts some good stuff to SuperTopo, and seems to have revived some long-ago friendships through it.
Plus she has a nice ... burro (donkey? mule? ? Anyway, one of those equines). :-)

cheers to nita! ed's pic was the one and only time i've met her and it was super fun talking. i think she said it was the first time in quite a while she'd been back to the valley. anyway, her great personality makes it easy to see why she's left such a big impression on so many.

Nita ,You probably didnt ever say much to me. But remember when Too Tall and I used to sandwich you outside the old Mountain Room.I knew it would be hard to get people to post pictures.You are and were one of the Yosemite Beauties.I can picture you so clearly from way back in the 70s.You with that smile and trying to slip by me.Lets see more pics from way back.

Here's to Nita, super nice woman. At the facelift when I got out of my truck she was the first one to recognize me saying something like, "you gotta be bluering".

Much appreciation to Nita. It was great meeting her at the facelift. The photos the tacos have to look at here are really acts of daring on Ed's part. Getting her photo is not easy. She thought I took a photo of her at the facelift and walloped me in the face. I appreciate her, but now I am really scared of her too. :)

I was lurking around in the dark with my big flash on the Nikon... so most of the time people were unaware until the flash.
I try to be respectful and I understand that many people don't like to be photographed. At the Facelift the vibe was very cool and it felt ok to capture a bit of it on film. If Nita would wish me to take the images down I'd do it as soon as the request was made.
And I'd still think the world of her.

Have to give a shout out to my girl Nita!!!!! I was lucky enough to work with her for many years in Tuolumne and she and Andy are still great friends. I was young and dumb when I arrived on the Tuolumne scene and it was people like Nita and Andy who taught me about all the wildflowers, showed me all their secrect spots and made my time in Tuolumne the most incredible experience of my life! Nita, be warned because I too have some great photos of that incredible, yet elusive smile, so I will scan and post as soon as I figure out how to make that happen - got nothing but love for NITA!!!!!!! Athchaflaya - any comments???????

When we met we both had braces, she showed me the ropes in terms of how to score extra wool blankets and a pillow for my scrappy Camp 4 hang. Many years of being friends in the Valley and Tuolumne, many great times later at Strawberry.
Our world is truly sweeter because Nita is in it! And you better look me up when you come to Truckee this summer girl.

I met them Andy and Nita very briefly in the 80s. I remember Andy covering Blister in the Sun and turning me onto the Minutemen. Nita, I had a crush on like every kid back then... Sweethearts, both of them...

I don't know who took this...maybe walleye, but Nita I'm sure I was looking at you when this was taken:-)
Dehli, that photo was taken by Mike Perkins who was my roommate in Tecoya from 85-88. I now have the original transparency and that's how I got the scan.
Ah, that sounds about right. Nita sent it to me thinking it was me, and she was right.
Mike was a good guy. I remember him from my days ('80-'83). He had his struggles but I don't ever remembering him complaining.
Nice Land Cruiser dog. johnp wish it was mine, but I had a 68 blue VW bus back in those days. Was parked at the TM gas station most of the time. Mike Brown was my "roommate" but he used the tent and me the bus.
those were good days
