And the Curlymobile I think.

Climbed with TS couple times this year, still looks the same, except for the wrinkled , leathery skin, and (more) bowed legs.

I forgot to mention in my 1st post that Guy Andrews is the one who saddled me with the Bee Hay moniker. Still got that stink on me 30 yrs later. He's probably cackling in his icy grave.

Yeah BeeHay, that is Dan Curley's Dodge van with a 318 cid V8. After the Alaska Highway it was 5 cylinders.

Here's an oldie: Nancy Henderson at Stonewall Peak 1973:

it looks like the elusive photo of Black Beauties (the shoe)
has finally materialized, in the Nancy Henderson shot.

BH, I lost all my photos in the cedar fire. Would be willing to pay for copies of our winter tahquitz ascent, as well as any photos you’d like to share re: CT or Peru. How 'bout some from the infamous snow creek trip where gunther fell almost the whole way down and lived to tell the tale?

Scuffy B,
What an eye for detail you have! Those are indeed Black Beauties! She searched all over for them, as they were almost nonexistent in San Diego. Those were reputed to be the supreme edging shoe/boot, they were absolutely 100% stiff! Especially in her very petite size. BB's put my RR's and PA's to shame.
Today, it's difficult to imagine free climbing in those things. What were we thinking? "Smearing" was yet to be discovered.
