The best I could do would be to scan in some photos from Climbing Magazine of Kurt Smith on some of those north / NE side routes from 1988 like Keeper of the Flame, or Killing Yourself to Life. Are those the ones you meant?

KS posts here, but I don't think he posts many photos. I could be wrong though - he put up some on the "Hero Shots" thread.

The only stuff I have done myself on Elephant Rock is a few trips up Hot Line (A0 version) and some TRing on Killer Pillar.

Back when the Reagan was fighting commies and Tab was winning the cola wars, Wide World of Sports or the Guinness show rigged a tyrolean between Elephant Rock and Elephant Graveyard under the guidance of one J. Long. Charles Cole did the deed. Maybe Largo can post up some recollections? I'm sure all were paid handsomely (NOT!) for the effort.

Mussy, Tar, Leroy, Jaybro, Werner--any stories???

There's an Elephant Rock at Crawford Notch in New Hampshire, another at Smugglers Notch in Vermont, too. Both offer good climbing, at rather different levels of adventure.

Elephant Rock, Yos:

I helped Dimitri Barton put up (down) Killer Pillar, on the West Side.

Went up Hotline with Kim Carrigan in '80: we went across the crux on our feet, not fingers, using some rurp scar sidepulls.

Pink Dreams to Fatal mistake a couple times; first time out with Kevin "Gong Show" Leary. That's a sweet route.

Plumbline & Trundling Juan still on my list, right after my re-juve.

Sorry, no pics, but one day, Don Peterson (more name dropping) of Tis-Sa-Ack fame, may oblige me to scan some of his early/mid 70's stuff, Hotline among them.

No Marty, I was absent for the Tyrolean.

I found the bolts on Fun Terminal to be pretty wierd, climbing around the left side and all the bolts are 2-2.5 feet around the right side. 100th Monkey was fine, one bolt a bit too far right, but nothing bad.

Damn though, Fun Terminal was HARD...kicked my ass good!
