Oh, some wonderful shots here. These hounds bring so much joy. Here's one from yesterday up in Pine Creek Canyon. Hot sand had the pup whimpering, so I had to carry his 50+ lb butt for a while until we cleared most of the hot stuff. His paws are tough, but the fine sand gets in between his toes and burns. Poor fella!

We have started letting our new guy off leash outside for short periods. His greatest joy seems to be bounding through the tall grass in chase of the local turkeys, rabbits, and ground squirrels. While he doesn't always come to us immediately when called, a trait common of Shibas, he stays close and keeps checking in before returning on his own.
