Three Dogs Barking under the Moon
There once was a farmer who had three dogs,
There was Lester and Paulo, and Gypsy too,
They always barked at the rising moon,
They would never shut up,
No matter what you'd do,
A full moon rose in the sky one night,
And there beneath the walnut tree,
The dogs lived next to the farmer's house,
In a big dog house his grandsons built,
A big dog house with room for three,
And Lester started barking first,
"Woof woof woof woof, I want some food!"
And Paulo barked, "Woof woof, me too!,
But Gypsy barked, "Woof woof, not you?
Not time for food so don't be rude!"
But Lester kept barking and wouldn't shut up,
Then Gypsy barked, "What a fool of a dog,
What a fool of a dog, woof woof woof woof,"
And Paulo barked, "Lester eats poo!"
Then Gypsy barked "Woof woof, it's true!"
Then Lester barked, "It tastes like food!"
And Paulo barked, "Woof woof woof woof,
Dog poo doesn't taste like food!"
So Lester barked, "How would you know?"
And Gypsy barked, "Woof, Lester, you got Paulo good,
Then the neighbor yelled, "You dogs shut up!"
And Lester barked, "Woof woof woof woof!"
So Paulo barked, "Woof woof woof!" too,
And Gypsy barked, "Woof woof woof woof!"
Those three dogs barking under a roof,
And the farmer's phone it rang and rang,
From the angry neighbors who couldn't sleep,
While across the sky the moon it crept,
With the three dogs barking all night long,
As the farmer soundly slept and slept.

Aw Cragman that pic is adorable.
Kaycie gets her first whiff of Western Slope.
We stopped at Goldie's grave so I could drop off her favorite antler chew toy. She had whittled it down from a full point rack to what you see in the picture. Goldie was very popular and well loved so I was deeply touched but not surprised to see some sweet soul had already been up there to take Goldie a stuffie toy. Goldie loved her stuffies.
It's really kind of hard to type through tears.

Nice pooches, Hooblie. Great Pyrenees? These two are half. The other half is Landseer.
Man-o-man these little suckers grow fast. I don't have the latest pics downloaded yet. Already forty-pounders.

Yep. Dogs rule.
Don't know what I'd do without her out there.
Or at home either

yes wayno, my assumption is they those were pyrenees. six of them, two border collies responsive
to whistle commands. the tricky question: whistled in a basque or latin american accent?

Yeah Ekat, just east and up from Oroville. Less than ten miles to the border. I will send you an invite when we get set up.

Tip o' the hat to Pickle
There've been people that I've known
Nary only but a trickle
That I wouldn't loan a dollar
Or even lend a nickel
Who had one percent the worth
Of an untamed wilding beast
Nor an inkling of the value
Of my canine friends the least
With their mud dried fur and kisses and
And their weakness to a tickle
The example of true bravery
Always grateful never fickle
And of friends that I have known
Whose companionship I've treasured
Whether quadruped or biped
There's been no defining measure
Over given names and nicknames
I'm never one to stickle,
When to man and spaniel pup
Go sterling names like 'Pickle'
I appreciate the honor
For my moniker in jest
Was given me in kindness
And not at my behest
There've been friends that came and went
Nary only but a trickle
That I wouldn't keep for a lifetime
Would not even loan a nickel
But I've never seen a dog
Or very few at that
That I didn't know where I stood
And I'd always tip my hat
