Sadly, a lot of dogs aren't living large...

As opposed to most of the others this sweet Lab looked quite healthy and
well fed..

It's been a year ago today that you left this world, my friend. I still miss you. I hope one day we get to frolic again under the blue skies. I will never forget you.

Amen, brother....that is one happy looking pup in yer pic. You did well.

And I hope you guys reunite. Losing a good dog is brutal because there's nothing we can do, and they're so loyal and innocent. That's what makes their kinship so precious.

Sorry about you pup, dude.

EDIT: Reilly, that's bizarre about Pompeii. I remember the Coliseum in Rome being over-run with stray cats, f*#king EVERYWHERE! But stray labs is weird. Boggles the mind actually.

I was surprised with the amount of stray dogs at historical sites in Thailand.

We've just found out our great beast Gus is gravely sick with a fast moving cancer. All of us dog lovers have had the greatest dog in the world, Gus was ours and he will be missed beyond words.

Gus has been with us for 11 years and in that time made us laugh more than we can count, what a great dog.

Bluey, they seem to have made the Coliseum's cats disappear but don't seem at all concerned
about the dogs at Pompeii. I must say they all appeared quite mellow and at least here would
seem to be quite adoptable. Very sad.

Charlie, sorry to hear that.

Bluey - Thanks man, appreciate the sentiments.

Charlie - So sorry to hear that. That is what took my Kayla from me too, at age nine :(

Savor every moment, love those pups like there is no tomorrow.

Awwwwww pyrosis and Charlie D....

From Stem Gem to the front porch,
fond memories and what will be.
My dog heart goes out to you both
as I've been in both states.
These friends of ours, they really are
the best and we can count ourselves lucky
for the times we had and every day we have.
We're richer because of them.

we had to put down the poor guy about a month and a half ago. he was so loyal and smart. perianal fistulas is a terrible disease and no way for a dog to live. He was too old to go through surgery. i'll never forget this guy, i'll love him always.

But we did just get this beautiful little girl. she is very calm and going to be a great dog. she's gonna be a big one though! Chesapeake bay retreiver and lab mix. She will never fill the hole in my heart bo left behind but I love her still.

I am sorry about Gus, Charlie. Dammit - why cant we live forever.

I still miss my Teddy every day. When I went off to dig his grave, I stopped and covered his body with my coat like I was tucking him into bed, and asked him "Jump into my heart, Teddy." I wish I could hold him in my arms. I cannot, but it does help a little bit to feel him still in my heart.

Lucas the other day, at the Big South Fork and a little walk. About 2 weeks ago he discovered a mouse who had made a nest under the porch of the cabin, and then he realized that small animals are nestling beneath the grassy growths readying for the winter. Since then, he has a ONE track mind - sticking his nose down every hole, rooting amongst the tundra...looking for varmints! I hope he doesn't find one....

Says she was born to do this.

But no varmints were harmed.

Texas Dogs are loyal.
One hitched a ride on the outside of an ambulance taking his owner to a hospital for over 15 miles till a passing motorist flagged down the driver.

Finished the trip safely inside uninjured.
