Lost my great dog Pisco in November, and posted up a picture of him. He was my last strong connection to Jack, and I was totally devastated. But like most of you on this thread, I've been there before. I have a Golden Retriever-shaped piece in my heart, and when it's empty, I am incomplete. I know I should be a good person and get a rescue dog, but I've had Goldens since 1972, and love them. So here's Cabo.......I met him at 3 weeks, and brought him home at 8 weeks. This was last week (4 1/2 months) on his first real camping trip. He's awesome, and is keeping me happy! :-)

SC seagoat,
Our last dog is at Land of Medicine Buddha. Rocky is where the peace sign made of branches is. Wonderful place.

Anyone know of some nice summertime sierra trails where dogs are allowed? Was psyched on checking out Sequoia & Kings Canyon NP, but they don't allow dogs.

My Goldie Girl has been immortalized in the Crag Dog section of the latest issue of Climbing Magazine.
How cool is that.

@Goboy:
Check out the trails out of Horseshoe Meadows south of Whitney. You can hike quite a ways, bag Cirque Peak, etc. Nice place for hikin' with the hounds.

Just a week before her 12th birthday my beloved companion Goldie passed away Sun Aug 9th just after noon. We took one last climbing camping trip together to my home stone in the Gunnison area. She passed in peace in my arms making direct eye contact the whole time. She is buried where she (and I) wanted to be. I'm gutted but so blessed to have had such wonderful years together.
Good by girl and thank you from the depth of my soul.

So sad about Goldie. I've so enjoyed the pictures of her over the years. Especially the ones where she is sitting proud as your co pilot.
