I met the neatest lil mix this morning,, a Pomeranian/Mini-pin mix- incredible beautiful lil girl with a sweet personality.. I guess there is another batch of them coming that will go to homes for free.!

edit: Watch out for "pet flippers"

The American Kennel Club says pet theft shot up 31% for 2013 compared to the year before and that stolen pets are reported every single day.

Pet flipping has been seen around the nation, and in several of those instances, the owner discovered their stolen pet on Craigslist, but instead of being advertised as a "found" pet, they would see it advertised for sale.

If you ever find yourself in this situation, report the theft to the police.
There isn't too much information on how strategic pet flippers are, but in some cases, it looks like scammers target dogs very carefully.
Many times, the dogs that disappear are valuable, purebred, and not spayed or neutered.

If, for whatever reason, you do have to give up your pet, Nevada Humane Society staff says it's better NOT to advertise it as "free to a good home" and to ask for a re-homing fee. This can help discourage criminals who are looking to find animals they can quickly resell for fast money.

Running the dog ( and flying a kite ) on a Sunday afternoon.

( The trail I'm standing on runs straight down the ridge to my house. The trail branching off of it to the right runs straight down that ridge to my next-door neighbor's house. The trail in the canyon to the left runs straight to my other next-door neighbor's house. )

Thanks ap.....I am heading home a week from today, and will get to meet her then.

I am still grieving the loss of Cush rather heavily...but I think he would approve of Miss Bentley.

You're right ap.....Cush was truly unique, and his life was lived during the most profound part of my own. He helped us raise our kids....the three most amazing people I've ever known.

I can honestly confess that my kids would not be the special people they are today, had it not been for that dog.....his committment, diligence, integrity, patience, sense of humor, and his profound unconditional love for us all, changed our lives.

I owe it to him....to never forget him. He will be thought of every day for the rest of my life.
