apogee and chaz: so sorry for your dogs illness. spend as much time as you can with them and take alot of pictures. owning my own business lets me spend almost 24-7 with my dog Lucy. i cant imagine life without her. my only advice is to get another puppy, not to replace but to help with the healing.

Sorry about Toby, Chaz. I know you love those dogs. Sorry, bro.
Apogee, I'm sorry to hear about your pup as well. Hang in there and give the love that is needed. They look to us for that. They rely on us for that. They are pack animals and we are the pack leaders.
Life is a series of dogs, and I know I loved every one of mine the same way. Profoundly.

Love that picture of Sophie, Chiloe! She rocks.
She had good times sprinting around the woods as we hiked a bit over the holiday. Jack worked gamely up the trail, negotiating each granite step. On every walk there would come a time when he'd turn around, face the valley, and let us know it was now time to head down. You can't cajole an old dog like we used to do with the kids.

Chiloe, I have a unique place in my heart for Beagles. Only a Beagle-owner would realize this.
I loved all my pups equally, but Beagles were the most 'interesting'. Funny that I haven't owned one in a while. Maybe...

Our little terribeagle is a joy to watch, running loose in the woods. She's fast, agile and keenly aware of all the varmints to be caught if she tries hard enough.
Lucky for her she gets to do this three or four times every day. Lucky for the varmints, they have good reflexes too.

That's a sad story Tradman.
Choose to see it as you want but to most of us, especially on THIS thread, that story just proves what we know and feel- that we would do anything to save our dogs.
Where you see slavery we just see love.

A sad story. The kid was playing fetch, dog got caught by a wave, boy tried to save his dog but he got swept in too. Both parents died trying to save their boy. Any parent might have made the same snap decision, regardless of risks. In fact, I knew someone who did.
