Yay! Lots - o - shots* Crimp ..... you should consider chalk.....nothing works like powdered courage for those sweaty/wimper moments that the Valley is famous for :-)

Karl - What?.......no Apron!

BTW...43 minutes to load this novella on dial-up.......

Time is relevant.....worth the wait .

If every one smiled as much as Crimpie, the world would be a better place.

Thanks John and everyone. It was really fun. Does anyone go to Yosemite and have a bad time (short of injury or worse)?

And does everyone else just keep relooking at their photos when they get home?

Flying out of Fresno, we flew very near, and just south of Yosemite. It was the first time I've seen the valley - at least some of it - in the air. I was blown away all over again.

My birds were happy to see me when I returned. It's been a big preen-fest for the last 24 hours.

Thanks for the kind words. I really enjoy the friendship, fun and interactions at all levels with my climbing partners, and that goes especially for Sam and Crimpie.

Sammie is a conservative and Crimpie is way more Liberal than he. We even discussed those kind of issues over some wine, but there were only good feelings all around. (probably much like when the very different supertopo types actually hang out together in person, we're all pretty cool folks)

Anyway, It's hard not to look forward to more cranking and catching up with these great folks at some future time. Super smart, good hearted, and good sports about taking my gaunlet of climbing abuse.

"I agree Gabe, that photo that Karl took is superb. He's a star. :)"

Actually my camera almost went on strike and refused to take pictures. It felt the Lowe Pro camera case I bought for it was inferior to Crimpergirl's camera case. You can see the camera strap next to Crimpers left shoulder strap in this image

I think I may have the exact complement to this photo of the traverse on Serenity Crack p2!

Crimpergirl - shot from above, following, high traverse, dressed to keep cool, helmetless, blonde, professor.

Erika - shot from below, leading, low traverse, dressed to keep warm (December 17), helmetclad, brunette, graduate student.

Both strong and smooth, though!

Thanks Crimpe, for the report. I had gone to the Valley last year but just could not get my mind around it enough to write a TR. You did a great job of it.

We did have a blast. Climbing, talking, hot tubbing, swimming, wine drinking; all were super. Many thanks to you for dragging up the rope ahead of me. Much of that climbing was super hard for me without the rope drag and I would likely have had to bail otherwise.

Also, many thanks to Karl for leading this stuff. It looked like some kind of magic to me.
