The state of confusion

Well, Team USA took it on the chin after playing woefully in the first half.
Down 0-2, they came back with a goal in the second half, but not enough to oust Jamaica.

Mexico, on the other hand, obviously has the refs in their pockets.
Advancing the last two games by terrible penalty calls at the
end of regular time, they beat Costa Rica 1-0 after 119 minutes+ of a
scoreless tie. Tonight they got two terrible calls to beat an undermanned
Panama, who played short a man due to another specious call. The American
referee was/is a disgrace.

Go Jamaica!!!!

After their abysmal 1-0 win against Panama I knew there was no hope.
Props to the Reggae Boys though.

The Galaxy showed the massive schism that still exists when the Barsa
reserves went up 2-0 and the Galaxy didn't have a shot on goal until the
80th minute!

Man that was hard to watch. USA just don't have what it takes still. Hopefully three years will help. I too will be going for the Rastafarians.

Reilly, how did your hero Stevie G play?

Dunno, just read about it. He couldn't have done much if they had NO SHOTS ON GOAL til
the 80th minute! The paper said the Barsa reserves totally dominated and then let the
Galaxy have some fun, for ten minutes. 93,000 showed up at the Rose Bowl to watch an
exhibition! Just imagine if we could actually field a competitive team!

Well, poor old Team USA didn't make it today, either.
Lost out on PK's after Fabian Johnson, Michael Bradley, and DeMarcus
Beasley missed during the shootout.
The Panamanian's scored around 50' on a breakaway by Nurse'.
A substituted Clint Dempsey evened it at 70', but Panama was by
far the more dangerous team. They deserved it.

Go Reggae Boys!!!!

A bit delayed here, but on Tuesday evening
the US MNT was paddled by Brasil, 4-1. Held scoreless until late
in the game when Danny Williams (no relation) iced a gorgeous shot
into the net. Ahem, Brasil was almost unstoppable, especially after
David Luis hit Neymar in the chest with a lofted 50+ yard pass,
and he ran into the penalty area only to be brought down by the US.
PK, 2-0 at that point. He later put a gorgeous shot in to get his
second goal (he only played during the second half, and scored both
within 10 minutes of the start.
In a later friendly, Argentina came up late to tie Mexico 2-2 by
a fabulous goal by none other than the world's best player, Lionel
Messi. Of course, the great one couldn't play all positions for
90 minutes, and his team mates didn't do much to help. . .

Coming up next month, the start of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. . .

Went to the Rose Bowl on Saturday for the USA vs. Mexico game. Pre game festivities were super fun, everyone was in good spirits. The game was great. The USA really looked lack luster and Mexico wanted it more. That being said, the Mexico supporters out numbered US supporters 4 to 1. So it was basically a home game for El Tri. I almost brought my kid to the game, but because of flight expense and ticket expense, left him home with grandma. Thank god I did. Inside the stadium was a sh#t show, continuous rain of beer{I hope it was beer}, the screaming of "Faggot", en espanol, at each goal kick as Guzan booted the ball. What's that about? I remember an Italian team having to play a home game with no fans because of fan behavior, I believe it was a racially based, fans screaming "chongo" at a black player. I'd like to see CONCACAF do something similar. To top it off I had some Mexican fan want to go at it after it was all tied up. Finally called security over to get the hell out of the fire. Honestly the experience was great but I wont be taking any of my family to another game. I also want to express my respect to the US Outlaws, they actually have a fan code of conduct. I will only attend matches if my seats are in close proximity to the core of the Outlaws.

Homeland Security shoulda ringed the stadium, then it woulda been 4-1 US citizens.
US Soccer clearly only wanted the money. US games against Mexico should
always be played in Duluth, Salt Lake City, or St Louis.

That final goal was a heartbreaker after the US comeback. That is what happens if you can't clear. Great shot though. A rocket off a ball dropping almost straight down.

I saw on another forum that the choice of the venue was CONCACAF, not US Soccer. CONCACAF would be looking to maximize revenue, and on that front, the Rose Bowl would be hard to beat.

Mexico deserved the win. Altidore was crap, as usual. Dempsey is a good finisher, but past it otherwise. And as an RSL fan, it pains me to say this, but Beckerman probably peaked at the last WC. Of the older guard, only Bradley and Cameron acquitted themselves well at all.

The US needs to start over with the younger players and probably a different coach.

Jermaine Jones is past his peak as well. Could not believe that he was slotted in on the wing. He looked slow/tired and out of place.

Would really like to see Klinsmann replaced.

Mexico out played the USMNT for most of the game and seemed to own most of the second half.

Chicharito needs to go to finishing school . . .
(you know why he doesn't play for Manchester United any longer). . .

And Klinsmann needs to get a defense. . .

Ouch.
0-1 to the Tico's today. Wholesale changes to the lineup,
and still no defense. Shameful.
Not looking good for the 2018 Cup at this stage. . .

All I can say is that Douglas Costa is my favorite player to watch. Never even heard of him before this year.

And Reilly, that was funny when Arsenal thought they could beat Bayern again;-)

I guess they have given up 7 goals this year in bundes and Champions. Only +39 differential bud.
