You'll Never Walk Alone...

@#@%^mn bindippers.

Shouldn't you scouse scum be out stealing a car or something equally appropriate for you lot?

Better shore up that defense, more gifts from Kolo and kiss that last CL place goodbye. Spurs and Toffees waiting in the wings. SAS can't carry you all season.

Football is the greatest. The rest of the world knows it, but us Americans are slow.
SAS has more goals than most teams including the Spurs. I think they are Champion's League bound.
Reilly, are you really talking sh#t on Gerrard? Few better than him at his position. I'm going for the Gunners too, mainly cause they signed Ozil. I hadn't heard the Balotelli rumor, but I think he wouldbe a good fit there. He is a headcase, but when he's on he can terrorize a defense and Ozil can set him up for chance after chance. They do have a testing schedule and as a Bayern fan I hope they can focus on Epl title, cause Die Rottens are going to end their Champion's early. I said hope...

Justin, I don't waste time criticizing people I don't like.
I think The Steven epitomizes English football - very good but a day late and a dollar short.

The Gunners will be unstoppable with Ozil. With Super Mario they could be Seahawks!

Yeah, I've been stumped as to why England can't get it together in cup play. Individually, they are one of the best, but they don't play well enough together to win it all. Now that I said that they'll probably win it this year, lol.

They have the proverbial two chances. You know the fix is already in
for Brasil. They'll have an Italian ref in the final who will retire
very nicely to a bitchin condo on Ipanema.

Wow, Liverpool murdered the Gunners. City to third and Chelsea on top. Spurs right there. It's getting good.

There are many variations of football. What "football" is in a particular country is what is the most popular form of football in that country. In the US that of course is American Football. In Australia it's Australian Rules Football. When people say Association Football (soccer in America) is "FOOTBALL" they are probably ignorant to the development of football around the world.

What is best is of course entirely subjective. IMO Soccer is a great game to play, but football (this site is American right) is a better spectator sport (especially on TV). All the arguments people argue why soccer is better have been said time and time again (but people still think they are being original when they say them) and in reality have their pros and cons. e.g. soccer is pretty much non-stop, and football has limited time when the ball is really in play. But that means there's long stretches of soccer games where you watch and nothing important happens, while in football you can drink your beer and talk to your friends and then focus on the game while a play is on and it's intense action for a little while.

We (Spurs) will bollocks it up. Honestly I'd rather we finish outside the Europa places if we're not going to snag 4th, and concentrate on the Prem next season. We do have a better run-in than most of the contenders though, so there's a shot. Especially with the fragile defense of the Scouse. Suarez gets a knock and they will really suffer.

La Arse has a tough fixtures list over the next few weeks. They'll probably fade as usual (but still finish 3rd). Ozil has gone missing, and Giroud is one dimensional. I just don't seen Bentnder, Theo, or Oxlade adding enough firepower to get through their tough matches to come.

I'd say it will finish in order City, Chelsea, LaArse, Scouse, Spurs, Everton, Manure, Newcastle.

but football (this site is American right) is a better spectator sport (especially on TV).

No 'effin way. American football is boring as sh#t, and I grew up playing it and having almost no exposure to real football (what ya'll insist on calling "soccer"). Stand around, play for 10 seconds, stand around. The only appeal was violent hits or trick plays, and trick plays are seldom used, violent hits are being regulated out of the game. I haven't wathced an NFL game in probably 15 years and that was only because the Falcons finally made a superbowl (and got their ass kicked in it).

I mean watching a celebration dance on every 5-10 second play is not entertaining, it's embarrassing.

El Cap, you might be right on how they finish. I think if Arsenal can get Podolski consistently in the lineup, it gives them a chance still at the title. I just don't want Chelsea to win it.

I grew up playing soccer and the only thing more boring than watching soccer is golf. It's so one dimensional. A bunch of guys running around kicking a ball. Maybe once in a while a goal. I've tried to watch it, but just can't get into it.

I wasn't into football growing up but as I learned more about the game, it's history, the positions, and the strategies I came to appreciate it.

Again it's all subjective. Plenty of Europeans are picking up American Football. And soccer will always be big in the US for youth (it's a good sport for people without the capacity to understand football).

I grew up playing a bit of soccer but more "American Football". I now have 2 kids that both play high level competitive soccer. I have really grown to appreciate the game and enjoy watching a good EPL, La Liga or even MLS match more than the NFL.

Really looking forward to the WC

Yes, that Arsenal/Liverpool game was painful. Glad I didn't get up at 5:45 to watch that live.

Arsenal definitely misses Ramsey and Walcott. Ramsey because he's much better on defense than Ozil/Carzorla/Wilshere/Rosicky/AOC. And Walcott because he gives the attack a much different look and is the sort of option that Ozil is most familiar with.

And I shouldn't really be saying this as an Arsenal supporter, but I'd rather see anyone win it besides Chelsea. Even Spurs. I can't stand Mourinho.

Hey, I feel the same way. Anyone but the Blue Racists, aka Chelski, aka Buy-a-Title FC. Even rather see you guys win it. Anything to knock the smug off Mourinho's face.

I agree with Snowmassguy. I grew up playing soccer, but really didn't learn to appreciate it until my kids began to play organized soccer and I had to learn how to be a coach. That was 7 years ago, now I coach upper level teams, have taken first place twice, and am a certified Intermediate referee. Now knowing the mechanics of the game, the reasons the rules prohibit violent conduct, and the elegance of the techniques and tactics, I think people who think watching it is boring basically wear their ignorance of the essence of the game on their sleeves.

People who love soccer think American football is too slow because it constantly stops and starts and they have time-outs and everything. Soccer is all about the beauty of the attack and the deviousness of the defense. It's very much a thinking game and if you watch a high level professional team, you understand the chess-like nature of how it is played.

There's a reason why its the most popular sport in the world.

I am a huge BPL fan. the pace, the skill, the tradition. Love it. I get up early on Saturdays watch one game and record another. NFL is boring and full of commercial time outs and way to long in general. Maybe relegation could help the NFL.

That's kinda funny in that footballers are arguably the most ignorant athletes
out there because the good ones get pulled out of school at a very young age.
Most probably couldn't even spell 'chess' and damn sure couldn't play it.

Snowmass, not hatin', just observing. And I didn't say footballers can't be
intelligent, they just don't get edificated. They think in a more spatial
and fluid manner. But there are reasons why footballers in England are sterotyped
as boorish and unable to gracefully handle their fame and fortunes. Pretty
hard to top the likes of George Best, Wayne Rooney, or Diego Maradona in the
Boor Dept.
