Who did the FA of this thing? I cannot find it in the guide. Also, how often do people lead this thing?

Thanks

tred it this spring. thought it was hard to do anythig but layback until the very end. Seemed like a few big cams should get you up it? It was very hard for me to go straight in because it is very steep and the left wall is vertical and tempting.

Hmmm, at first I thought this thread might be about some ET that had recently taken over SuperTopia, and was posting all sorts of unpleasant and unneeded nonsense. Glad that it's about climbing after all, though maybe not the most pleasant of climbs...

Cool, thanks. I debated walking over there and asking, but thought this might be faster. It was.

To do Space Invader straight in, and proper, you have to use Leavitation. The first half is the nasty size that is too small for your knee. That thing is heinous. While practicing on TR, we setup a line, attached to the bottom of the climb, cause if you pop, you're going to swing out HARD and FAST and slap the boulder behind you. It would be ugly. I got to witness someone pop out of the thing and hit the end of this leash, right before smacking the boulder. It was violent, but so f*#king hilarious the way it rag-dolled the guy.

i got my butt kiccked all over. couldnt get my knee in - then it was too big for my knee. the only really cool trick that seemed to work was at the end where i was steep laybacking then popped the palm of my laybacking hand in while still laybacking and reached behind it to establish a hand fist. Quite the learning experince as they call them.

Space Invader is a couple hundred yards down from the Awahnee parking lot.

I have more pics, but as far as accessible pics, this is the best I can do. This is Blaine Harmon on a TR burn of it (after a few). Easy to tell he's tired, as he's in a layback position, working off a handstack, working to get the knee in.

Maybe someone has a side profile of this thing...?? My shot doesn't EVEN begin to convey how steep this thing is.

Sweet. I did Space Invader in '06. I inverted and stacked up to the top, then ye olde pivot to the armbar/chickenwing top out maneuver. Fun stuff, classy route. Good times.
