Atop Cannon Cliff after an ascent of Vertigo, circa 1984.
Steve Reed, me in the beret, Peter Gheen (later died in a rappelling accident in bad weather in the Alps), and a British guy whose name I can't remember.
Second cross country trek with me on the left, Mark (last name unknown) in the center, and Jim Andrews (AKA "Flash") on the right. The big phallic symbol in the background has something to do with aliens and is under contract to be moved to the Denver airport...

Can anyone name the climb with Bob Kamps leading a steep thin crack, photo by Jaan, a ways up? Presumably, Needles. (Jun 20, 2011 - 04:32pm PT)
I don't know if I've ever placed my hands on those holds, but they are reminiscent of so many other climbs on California granite.
