Well, I have been sitting out on the side lines seeing where all this was going to go.
My impression … simple expression of censorship. A sign of the times… sad.
Anyway, just a tad over 84 hours. Can’t send or respond to e-mail.. long gone but look for after June 1st additional blast from the past on one on the new forums that lurk in the chaos of intellectual or moral despair.
Will try to get as many as I can….same people some Baseball, a few Weddings just a different time…1974,’75, ‘76,’ 77
Oh! no now 83 hours to go and many miles to go.

The Jazzy Lyrics
Shake it like a ladder to the sun
Makes me feel like a madman on the run
Find me never never far gone
So get your leather, leather
Leather on on on on
You're a zero
What's your name?
No one's gonna ask you
Better find out where they want you to go
Try and hit the spot
Get to know it in the dark
Get to know it whether you're
Crying, crying, crying oh oh
Can you climb, climb, climb higher
Shake it like a ladder to the sun
Makes me feel like a madman on the run
Now you're never, never far gone
So get your leather leather
Leather on on on on
You're a zero
What's your name?
No one's gonna ask you
Better find out where they want you to go
Try and hit the spot
Get to know it in the dark
Get to know it whether you're
Crying, crying, crying oh oh
Can you climb, climb, climb higher
Was it the cure? Shellshock!
Was it the cure? Hope not!
Was it the cure? Shellshock!
Was it the cure?
What's your name?
You're a zero
What's your name?
No one's gonna ask you
Better find out where they want you to go
Try and hit the spot
Get to know it in the dark
Get to know it whether you're
Crying, crying, crying oh oh
Can you climb, climb, climb higher
Was it the cure? Shellshock!
Was it the cure? Hope not!
Was it the cure? Shellshock!
Was it the cure? Hope not!

Via Rockclimbing.com circa 2012:
Good idea
Good idea attracts talent
Talent contributes Quality
Quality bring higher visitation
High visitation increases Noise signal
Site admin/mods (usually Quality Content provider) suppresses noise signal
Censorship / Lynch posts against Quality Providers begin
Noise goes up
Quality Content Providers begin leaving
Site functions poorly as a result and new Quality content stagnates
Noise starts to increasingly wash out Signal
Snowball effect where most content providers simply move on due to STFU Noob posts
Site declines to a baseline threshold of visitation and serves more of a internet chatroom with vague ties to an interesting topic / activity
...
Good idea
...it all starts all over again.
This is just the life-cycle of an internet forum. I would call this theory validated to pretty much a law now. It is not just climbing websites. I've seen this happen to a lot of different forums over very diverse topics. Human nature I guess.

~Variety Is The Spice Of Life ~
The more different kinds of input the better,
Diverse input is not noise.
All Single-Topic, over-moderated, so monosyllabic, content
eventually achieves a level of repetition where it becomes like white noise
On-Topic Rock Climbing Content Added:
not suggesting that it is "Quality Content"

Rev. Peyton says;
"We researched these dangerous Hollywood style stunts
My best friend Jim Connor volunteered
to let me set him on fire inside my house,”
All of these people,
animals, and machinery were all packed inside
Rev. and Breezy’s tiny cabin in the Brown County Hills.
“These folks are just our friends and family,”
“We are lucky to be surrounded by hillbillies,
performers, artists, daredevils, and adventurers.”
With almost no budget,
this video is ONE continuous camera shot.
It was captured by Rev’s good pal, amazing photographer
Tyler Zoller in ONE take.
It is all DIY,
but all the proper precautions were taken.
The Rev. urges people not to try this at home,
especially if you live in a wood house.
Washboard Breezy,
Rev. Peyton’s wife and band member, says,
“The song is stripped down,
Maxwell Senteney plays a suitcase
just like on the record,
but it sounds huge.”
“It’s all about the vocals,”
Rev. Peyton says.
“Max and Breezy make the song for me.”""

Lostinshanghai, Do you have any Tuolumne pics? Dave Yerian and I are doing a book Tuolumne Climber fashioned after the Yosemite Climber by George Meyers. We are getting ready to tie it up but would love any special pics if you have any. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing this blast from the past.
I think I recognize a couple of long time climbing partners from back in the 70s!
And still climbing in the Valley. @WBraun
And this guy was a master of the time; sadly no longer with us. @bachar

That stack of slide sheets in the first shot tells how far you have to go!
It is impressive - keep them coming, please!

Years ago, like many years ago I heard that Cochrane played with/for some major league baseball team. We were walking from the cafeteria to Camp 4 skirting employee housing along the way. So, I ask him “I heard you played baseball in some big city”? He responds, I look around and see a posted yellow sign then say “hit that sign” [ it was about a good 60/70 feet or more away].
He picks up a good size rock, throws and WHACK …. right on the target. So, I proceed and say “5 bucks you can’t do that again, He picks up another rock, throws. WHACK dead on. “OK, OK That’s it! Drinks at the mountain room bar, I am paying, you can’t do it a third time”. WHACK. ……
Jesus Christ….. I am out 5 bucks, drinks and most likely dinner $120 or more....I can handle it, no biggie …..Determined to make sure he loses this time I tell him back up another 50 /60 feet, we can hardly see the sign and then ask him “What do you want?”. Chuck says “Qusmo gets to drive the Lincoln for a week”. I agree sounds like a bet to me no way is he going to make this one. “All or nothing”
Driving thru the valley was not bad, getting thru some of the turns when heading out to the Sunset Inn was a little hairy but overall, he got the hang of it.

If MCA really wanted to get back at climbers, they could have pick someone better or more threatening like hiring ex-members of the Black Panthers, Hells Angels but they were too cheap. There were two of us that harassed not only these guys but some of directors and presidents of MCA.
I found out years later that there were four others that participated in some way making MCA personal especially security uncomfortable/miserable during their rein in the valley. Don’t know if this was one but there were a few blanket parties that mysteriously happened making them leave hastily as in like the next day.
