I've admired the vast backgrounds and unique points of view from many people on this site.

It would be nice to get some kind of consensus where people will go after this forum is done to continue communicating with one another.

If you wish, simply state your plans if you know them...

I'll start:

Probably gonna check Taco Salad for a while and see if it works.
Doubt I'll spend much time on Wide Fetish.
No social media sites for me.
I may be swayed elsewhere if it seems like it's worth it and some of the main contributors of this site head on over... Perhaps I'll be done altogether eventually...

Pretty much sums it up for me. The more of us who check out Taco Salad the more likely it is to build a community there.

So far as I can tell the only way to post a pic there is by a link, which is smart. It also saves a sh+t load of server space.

Too bad it doesn't have a button to view all recent posts regardless of topic, MP does and it's pretty good idea, but I know she's working in a preset format.

I'm dubious that Taco Salad is going to scale well over time, but if it's not widely adopted, that problem may self-resolve. I'm waiting to see what Ken comes up with, because I have a lot more confidence in the underlying infrastructure for long-term support/scaling.

To the extend that "the site" is sort of hobbiest, it won't last. To the extent that I care enough to spend the time there that I have on ST, I want it to last more than a few months or year.

So, I guess it's a great, big "wait and see". I will not, under any circumstances, sell my soul to social media. Even a forum is getting sketchy, but at least it's not big-data. FB of the Devil.

Roy, the one and only time I saw Liquid Sky and Blue Velvet was when you queued them up on a rainy day in the Meadows. I lost a piece of my innocence that day!

Thought much about this. The campfire has been awesome. I love each and everyone of you that I have met here. Some have become close friends, and some have been a huge part of life change for me. Teaching me so much about life and outdoor skills. (Damn Fonda I miss you.) Thank you KP for inviting me to the first StoneMaster get together in JTree and Gomez for feeding my daughter and I there and becoming such a great friend.

I am still thinking....I don't think this place can be replicated. Maybe it's time to move on. I did say Maybe. If I do, you can all message me on FB and many have my phone number and email. Change is tough but it happens.

Joy and Peace always from lynnie and her best friend, jesus.

Happie's site is my choice,

http://climberstacosalad.freeforums.net/

There are quite a few taco heads there, but many are still lurking before they jump in the pool.

Taco Salad and Facebook for sure, and probably Wide Fetish as well -- the latter as much for the wide content as the forum.

I'll probably still search this forum, since it will still be available as read-only.

But first and foremost, assuming this March-like weather ends, I'm going climbing.
