I've been writing my ongoing trip report and I went to add to it and noticed that every photo is now gone, it has been replaced with "Click here to view photo". Is this how its going to be from now on? I've always linked directly to my site for multiple reasons, one is I can actually keep analytics on photos viewed, which is nice. The other reason is because I personally don't want to upload everyone one of my photos on to this site to post them.
Is this how it is going to be from now on? I can't see myself continuing to post long trip reports having to upload every photo.

Very sad to say, yes It will be the format for now.
Going forward, we will all see if the journey is with following
Also along with the changes that came out of a concern for "copyright infringement" In what seemed heavy-handed moderation many of the most ardent supporters were unceremoniously stripped of their photos.
& those who protested or out-right publically called it out ?
 they were de-activated or chose to remove themselves due to the insult that they perceived as having been personally dealt out to them

I did see a few of those posts already but wasn't too worried about it because all of my posted photos were mine. I missed the having to click to view images thread. I wasn't aware that this new "click to view" format was going to be established. It seems unnecessary and like a guaranteed way to make sure you have significantly less trip reports in the future.
BJ - I was out traveling, so I missed the loop on this one.

I got frustrated enough to start this:

Got the domain, got a dedicated virtual server with a backup service, set up the OS and webserver and database and did some security hardening, loaded Wordpress. I’m still debugging the Wordpress stuff, first time I’ve set it up. Comments and posting don’t work yet, but will soon.
My plan is to post my reports there, linking back to google photos.
I could have figured out a simpler WordPress host, but I have a few other things I want to do that would benefit from having access to a real linux server.

I actually don’t keep a blog, and only wrote The trip report to be posted here. I think it was always nice to have some more trip reports in this climbing forum.

It's unfortunate that uploading images here means losing image definition when that is important. But most photos uploaded don't seem to be a substantive problem. I was hot linking to my website to get sharpness of original mathematical imagery. Annoyed I can't do that now.
Widefetish needs to change its title to something less pornographic or less focused on a particular climbing technique. Oh well.

Did posting photos change?
Yes. It's a great loss that we can no longer see Kelsey's glorious photos. i remember the life in them and he was kind enough to let me put some in my screensaver. They really grab you and make you glad.
