We arrived at a birthday party for a friend in Chico. After hugs with the birthday girl I made my way to the ice chest full of Sierra Nevada beer. Upon popping the cap I hear the words hey Mtnmun. At first I think I am confused. Who at this party could possibly know me as Hey Mtnmun! And there he is Timid Top Rope and Ms. Nita. Of course we hit it off from the git go. A jam session and stories from the climbing community soon followed.

Frank Wyman and Neebs and Jaybro and John Penca, Capitán Hartouni, Nature, and on and on...I connected with many folks via postal gear sales and I have actually crossed paths with a few: all of them shared stoke and several have given freely of their belongings to me. It is a beautiful little human collection here on the little old McTopo, full of serendipity on the good days, plenty ugly on the bad ones. I sure am happy to own a couple old tube chocks from John, I treasure those old mint Alpinists from Hartouni, I LOVE my Neebee paintings and dreamcatcher, proudly wear my one-of-a-kind ClimbAddict chalkbag from Happie. This place can sure suck sometimes when it gets ugly, but of the approximately 2.7 recreational clubs I choose to be part of, this is probably my favorite...because of the people.

hey there say, the bravecowboy, say, i have THAT ONE other wonderful painting too, for you... did not forget... you will love it...

hee hee, being that it is NOT human, it will come out better than lots of my 'portraits' ... though, i am still striving...

will try to get it done for spring... :)
my elder 'ex boss lady' had been in pain and reaaly needed me this year...
and, my new yard, as well... ohmy going on almost 1 1/2 years, with hardly any paiting... :O

i am getting 'BACK' into the ol' saddle though...
same as with the dream-catchers if anyone would LOVE one...

hard thing here is-- i can send send them to as many folks these days,
as the 'email' here does not work...

but, i still have connections on the facebook, ...

going to read all the other GOOD super topo hook-ups here and
i will share all the wonderful support and friendships
you folks have given me over the years...

the climbing community, i learned, being connected with the great outdoors, even DOES understand us 'hikers' even if we are not climbers...

well-- well, i'd climb up a hill, but not the hard rocks, :)

but the love of the land, is in my heart...
i thank my mom... my mommy, that grew up in the woods of ohio...
with a dad that loved them... who 'by example' must have led the way...

will be back later, and read more, and share...
i have a granddaughter, waiting on me, now...

happy good to eve, to all...

there IS A REASON for our 'taco quilt' here...
yes, there is!!

Wait, doesn’t Nita not like her photo posted? I’m sure you’d know better than me. Just saying. I invited Ekat to my wedding. Maybe if she’d showed it would have worked out, lol. Just kidding Kath.

I went backpacking with Wilbeer. That guy is most excellent. Come to think of it, we met up and went up to Tucs and then went cragging at Rumney a couple years after that backpack trip. We’re due up for another hang out in the mountains dude!

And then there’s the newest hook up. I’ve been down and out for a few months and a sh#t ton of ST’ers hooked me up. If you know, then you know. So much bad sh#t in my life and so much support from this community. You really hooked it up, and it both helped me with the objective and lifted my spirits.

Personal thank-you’s will happen, I’m just still trying to keep my head above water. Don’t think I forgot about your kindness.

zBrown,

Nice. Crystal Ball way back in the day. Sweet.

The only good hook-up I ever got off a climbing site was over on SummitPost. It was one damn good hook-up too.

Over here, not so much of that sort of thing...
