Dunno from Precip pants but my Precip jacket is excellent quality and a true bargain.

the Marmot Minimalist pant is their full zip goretex pant. I like them better than the precip.

Outdoor Research Foray pants have served me well for a few years. Worth checking out.

Foray is 3/4 zip, Minimalist even less---just ankle zippers. If you want rain pants that can be put on while wearing a harness, full zip is the way to go and neither of these brands will work.

What I'm looking for is a shell pant that can be put on/taken off while wearing skis. Full zip. Can't seem to find them, which is a bit of a surprise. Somebody has to be making them.

My old pair finally bit the dust.

Marmot precip is full zip. Easy to take off/on with a harness and crampons or whatever. Also when you slash then up with crampons it's 100 bucks rather than some exotic $500 pair of arcteryxs...

rgold is correct. don't know why I thought my minimalist pant was full zip.

there is a full zip precip though - this may be what you want if you're looking for a pant to quickly put on over a softshell pant with skis on.

Marmot does have their discontinued Spire pant - full zip GTX shell ski/snowboard pant

BD has a full zip shell, can't remember the name.

I've got the Marmot Precip full zips and have been very happy with them. They are on sale at Backcountry right now for $70.

Thanks all! Gonna look at the links.

Cheers!

edit: the MH Exposure2 are exactly what I'm looking for. Unfortunately they are our of stock in men's medium short (30" inseam).

I ski and stay dry with Patagonia Triolet pants, if I expect rain or wet conditions. Great functional pants.

Thanks. Choking on the cost a bit. Wish they offered them with a 30" inseam; I'd pick them up if they did.

Gonna give Mountain Hardwear a call to see if the will have the Exposure2 in 30" inseam or if they are discontinuing the pant.

It seems Montbell has fixed inseams proportionate to size .

If you can manage with something a bit more "economically" oriented. Hurry if you want these, they say there's only one left.

Hi johntp,

I have a pair of medium Red Ledge pants I can send to you. They have a 30" inseam and are packed with features for the money. The pants are new and on the rack.

Thanks,

Jay

Looks like the size medium has an inseam of 32.5", so that's a no flyer.

I'm interested. What is the waterproofing? Got a decent pic? Not familiar with Red Ledge.

The fabric is called T-Core (see tag photo)

I just got these in this fall and haven't used them but am impressed with them for all of the features they have.

Elasticized waistband with adjustable Velcro side tabs.

Front zip fly and waist closure, two front zip pockets, back zip pocket.

Full side zips with interior and exterior storm flaps.

Adjustable drawcord and Velcro tabs on cuffs.

Articulated knees for ease of movement. Packable into back pocket.
