Welcome to the Tenth Annual Supertopo Secret Santa Gift Exchange.
We are doing things a wee bit different this year. The event now celebrates the end of yet another spin around the sun. As such, gifts do not need to arrive prior to Christmas, but let's aim to celebrate the New Year by having gifts arrive at their designated location by Monday, December 31.
The previous nine years have been a wonderful success. Let's do our best to spread the word and keeps things going and growing.
I have simplified the rules this year to limit the number of words you must digest.
1. If you sign up to give a gift then please finish what you started. We are all anxiously awaiting to receive our secret gift. You do not want to bring tears to a fellow SuperTopoian.
2. No one needs to go broke giving a gift. Homemade gifts are encouraged, there is no price put on care, creativity, and thoughtfulness.
3. Gifts MUST NOT BE NSFW!!! No porn, rubber appendages, lingerie, etc. These gifts may be opened in the presence of children so please keep that in mind. EVERYONE should plan on sending and receiving something clean and fun!
4. Once you receive your gift please post pics! Not only does it let your Secret Santa know the gift was received, but it lets the rest of us see just how cool your present is!
TO PARTICIPATE:
1. YOU MUST EMAIL ME BY MONDAY 12/17/2017 if you wish to participate! You will receive an acknowledgment from Santa saying that you are in. If you do not receive an acknowledgment then he did not receive your email! Try again!
2. The correct email address to use is: SIMON (at) VERSHKE (dot) com. Do not send your notice of participation through SuperTopo!
3. In your e-mail you must give me your Supertopo name, real name, shipping address and any other special considerations like gender/allergies/crazy phobias/etc.
4. Secret Santa Name Distribution emails will go out on 12/18/2018. In this email will be the name and address of who you need to send your gift to. Also, at the same time, someone else is getting your name and address so they can send you a gift!

Great gift to come home and find that Secret Santa is ON for this year!
If we want, it is still kosher to send gifts to arrive by Christmas? I am being silly, never mind. :)
I'm in! I always get the most spectacular gifts from people, and I hope my gift this year will make someone as happy as your great gifts—O Secret Santas of Christmases Past—have made mine. I even took my two JT prints (and the card!) and they are up on the non-map wall in my field office. You guys are the best!

OK, so life isn't perfect and it's the holiday season and all the craziness it demands.....but let's get on the Secret Santa Bandwagon, let our hair down and have some jokes, jollies and fun.
Zip, are you on board yet? The train hasn't left the station and there is a seat reserved for you. :)
Perhaps we can include Susan's idea along with our personal gift giving. A gift to the campfire and another gift for the fire victims.
I think scrooge has left the room and the grinch's heart is growing.

Hi Lynne,
Oh, yes, life is wonderful! I am glad to hear or your fun and adventures as well. I am doing a multi-year archaeological survey in a wilderness area and the surrounding lands. I have discovered two prehistoric village sites and more—much more. I love being back out in nature doing archaeology. Next year, at least one, perhaps three former grad students from NU who became archeologists will be joining me in the field for more survey work. In 2020, we will being specific site investigations of some of the sites, and work to preserve the graves I have found as well. I am delighted to hear life is going well and that you are still in the game. Let me know if you get out to Montana. Much Love, ff.

wow, my first thought was to wait until 'christmas' 'til i realized,
(hee hee) that the eve, has come and gone, and i HAD shared it
with my critters... and a few phone calls...
and then, there was another box, that came in the afternoon and
so i thought i'd open that first-- and here they BOTH from
'secret santa' ...
well-- i loved it... oh my... very neat thing!
i love the 'behind the scenes' so to speak...
however, i promised to get next store, NOT late...
so--
you will have to be in suspence, just a few hours...

scroll down-- it is the BOOK, in the box... and a calendar...
NOW:
am going to read it now, in between 'takes' ... (hee hee) ...
well, IN BETWEEN the various chores i am working on, at the table...
i love learning about little 'human things' that are natural to all of us,
little things that we do, 'behind the public' work, outings, and/or fun and play... it is interesting TO SEE THIS, AS TO THE old movies stars, as,
they have BEEN in the public eye THROUGHOUT our lives...
and-- not as themselves, but, as 'created characters' ...
nice to see a bit of 'who they were' in some other respects...
the little things that help other see us for who we really are...
(though of course, in some cases, this may not be good) ...
yet-- whatever and whoever we are, comes to LIGHT, given enough time...
and:
it is really nice, when the light shows GOOD things, that we'd otherwise,
not of had a chance to know, and/or, perhaps even 'learn good lessons' though that knowledge...
or,
just for fun... and, learning how we are 'all in the same' boat, ultimately... just 'living our lives' and trying to make a living...
some folks just ended up MORE FAMOUS, is all...

Hey there SC Seagoat! I tried to send you this via the ST member message system, but.....
I've been unavoidably detained wrangling mud-fins, crud summits and the like out in XXXXXXXX area lately, and so I did not get a chance to swing through Moab and drop off a card to let you and Ferretlegger (and Teddy) know that I've made a small donation to the Humane Society of Moab in your names (you and Teddy-dog), in fulfilling my part of the ST Secret Santa shenanigans this holiday. I can't seem to find a way for them to show you the gift in your name, but I'll be contacting them about this after the New Year. Don't be too surprised if some triple-secret second-ascent of first-order big summit beta finds its way to you in due time as well.

We finally got back over the passes to frontrangia and canceled our mail hold. I was having a rough day yesterday, cussing and fuming, when I noticed a parcel on the porch... Some sweet-azzz super smooth action Trango lockers and a nice new (recycled) plastic ball for the Z dog! whomever was my ST Santa did a pretty gud job!

Yeah, I didn't want to be obvious; one rolls with the circumstances. Just wanted to let you know you were not left out.
My SSS left me with nada. Lana sent me a gift; thought she was my SSS and posted a photo on this thread. Turns out it was a thank you gift for me sending her a few cams and had nothing to do with the gift exchange.
I love Svetlana's smile and graciousness. That was my taco Xmas present. Svet likes the wide! Whats not to like.
