Apu is dead...we have killed him!

Does being politically correct take itself too seriously?

Is the PC movement blocking freedom of speech?

Is people being so offended just a sign of their/our world being so out of their control?

APU has their very own stop on the Gold Line. What are you complaining about?

I always loved Apu. My stereotype of East Indians is they are really intelligent. Maybe Hari Kondabolu suffers from an inferiority complex, or his numbers were falling, or he didn't have anything more important to do, or he's trolling. Odd thing a comedian being upset and not wallowing in parody.

Another stereotype of mine use to be thinking alcoholics are ugly. Latter I felt the label, alcoholic, really doesn't say anything about the person e g are they loving, mean spirited, kind, lost, ambitious. Statistically most of them hold jobs and some have been great writers. Mankind has been using intoxicants for eons. Then I started thinking how just about anything we 'wallow in' is intoxicating e g emotions, sports, anger, climbing, etc.

It has nothing to do with people.
It's about being a target of progressive's attack pack.

I already gave up trying to understand their logic and predicting the next victim.

Seinfeld and Chris Rock will no longer perform on college campuses because the PC snowflakes can't handle it. That's some kind of humor death, methinks.

I had to Google his opening statement to understand the Portland mental angst that has seized the poor fellow who started this thread.

Sooo-sad, although I do now remember apu from the few episodes of the Simpsons I watched.

I suspect a more-correct thread-title would be:
The Day humor died on Fox.

Fuk Fox & the conservative pinheads who watch it.

Doug Stanhope is brilliant. Saw a guy have a seizure at his show once. His response was, "If I stopped my set everytime somebody had a medical emergency I would never get anything done." Everyone laughed. Except the guy convulsing and being dragged out by his armpits.

I'll miss Apu, but I haven't seen a new episode in sometime. I guess they said it was black face for voice. Dr. Hebert is voiced by a white guy, nobody cares.

Those guys are old. And their schtick tired out long ago. Their humor died of natural causes I'm afraid.

DMT is quite right . . . these guys were/are funny but for chrissakes lets freshen things up!

Humor is a funny thing for the neurotic and obsessive monkey that is the Homosapien. Let it never fade away.

Edit: That's a funny meme up above. The picture of that obviously triggered chick with the whites of her eyes always cracks me up. I vote democratic, but the triggered, PC, that's not/never funny crowd are the worst. People need to lighten the fvck up. Jordan Peterson has some good points about the gubmnt controlling language. And fvck the commies.

@DMT et al.: Yeah, old f*cks, but the little babies can't even handle their brand of humor. That's the point. Let that settle in for a minute. College students CAN'T HANDLE effin' Jerry Seinfeld! We are soooo doomed.

Apu is dead...we have killed him.
God is dead...we have killed him.

Humor is what happens to someone else, tragedy is what happens to me.

Yes, I am a poor fellow, even pathetic---ha ha, it's funny even to me.

That I thought climbing defined who I am---comically flawed.

Mel Brooks previously said he wouldn't be able to make Blazing Saddles today because people would find it offensive. He said he made it to smash racism in the face.

Hipsters don't smile. Neither do supermodels. Causes wrinkles.

What do rightist and leftist have in common? They can't agree.

Bracket comments by Capseeboy. TradMaria: The initial strategy of leftism is political correctness.[ or subversion from the power elite] Truth is killed because it is in direct conflict with the fantasies of any Marxist-utopic cult. [ or it’s killed by the Tyranny of the minority Fascists born of the Tyranny of the majority democracy] Once the government/movement gets control of speech and what a person can freely say, with out fear of persecution, then irony and therefor humor dies soon after. At least it dies in the light of day anyway[agree].

Of course this only lasts so long - when the Marxist movement [subversive Fascists] and the state become incompetent and corrupt as they always do - the killing of everyone who is a problem quickly starts [Hitler, Stalin]. Arguments over whether chicks with dicks should be taking a sh#t next to your daughter seem silly when you don’t have anything to eat; so all the old concerns disappear when society is faced with real problems living under an authoritarian and elitist rule that gives up all pretense of fairness and justice [agree].
The laws of nature soon take over once again much like when any system fails. The first to go are the dullards, deviants, weaklings and demented old idiots [disagree, the deviants will control through AI, IT, propaganda, robots]; ironically any of the useful victim coalition used in the creation of a fantasy world filled with free stuff and no responsibility [notice how the tech stuff is already almost free---control through entertainment and divisive propaganda; your use of the word irony is lost on me, which is funny. Free stuff in free boxes all over PDX from people who can’t afford rent anymore, or from people that already have too much stuff, and need to upgrade to better stuff because there old stuff doesn’t make them happy anymore---this is ironic.]
You know, most of the crowd that still spews on Supertopo day in and day out.[this is irony at it’s best, because your implicitly including yourself, very funny and good parody!]

Thinking of it all - that’s pretty darn hilarious
Humor always survives in the end it seems.

I think it’s the opposite, people struggling to get by don’t have the time or energy to worry about dumb stuff. Someone’s life has to be pretty easy (or boring) to watch a TV show and take the time to protest it.
