"Justifiable.....only if the victim had started a political/religious thread."

Uh oh, we could end up with a lot of dead bodies in trunks around here!

Raymond Goedecke, one of the Chula Vista family killers, got out on parole and married a woman he'd met through a "jailhouse romance". Not sure of the time frame, but once out, he killed his wife and went back to prison where he died.

Who could have seen that coming? :/

This is some bizarre material. Who murders their grandmother?

I'm curious if any older Wyoming climbers remember a crime in the 1970's ...a member of the climbing community, with another man abducted two sisters, beat and sexually abused them and threw them from a bridge over a deep canyon..

My folks told me of the crime, but I don't recall any names...one of the sisters survived the fall and found a lapse in the canyon walls and crawled out with several skeletal fractures. She identifiedv the men, they were found guilty, but their death sentences were overturned.

The surviving victim had difficulty struggling with the emotional wreckage in her life and jumped from the same bridge years later ...and was killed. A grotesque series of events but factual...

How about a boob thread? Is that justifiable?

Yup, Jennie, Fremont canyon, near Casper. I'll get a link. Clinton McKinzie recounted this in one of his novels.

I first heard that story whole on the bridge where it happened, the first time I climbed there. - that was creepy!

Thanks for posting the link, Jay.

The newspaper write up is pretty close to what I'd been told...but more detailed.

Jennie & Jay,

'Fall: The Rape and Murder of Innocence in a Small Town':
http://www.amazon.com/Fall-Rape-Murder-Innocence-Small/dp/0882822799

Amazon has photos of the bridge and the cliff and river on the site.

It is a sad and gruesome story. The book is well done. The guys who committed the crime were disgusting.

The climbing there is pretty good, too, wonderful cracks in a pretty setting with camping nearby.

I appreciate you posting the Amazon link, Crock. I wasn't aware of the Franscell book.

I ordered a used copy. A frightful story... perhaps we have a desire to understand other humans at both their best and worst.

I would read that if I came across it, but I'm not sure I would pursue it. Grim story, though probably fascinating.

I've climbed with lawyers.

You just have to bear in mind that they are ectothermic.

Only yourself, a mod or an admin could delete your older posts.

Besides your claims, there is no evidense that Luke is anywhere other than the loony bin

Sewellymon - care to explain your "Sierra Madre based sheep buggers" remark earlier in the thread? As a life long resident of that town, i don't recall a Luke strong in town...and in a mile square town, you basically either know, or know of, everybody.

That Fremont Canyon story is really sad. Those animals should never get paroled.

I hope Kennedy was not the climber.
