Talked to Pat a couple of hours ago. Sounded better than usual.
Good to read that Jody. Never met Pat but traded a few emails with him. Nice person and wish Pat the best this day and in the future.

Seems like just yesterday Barry Bates and I watched Pat show us how to do the "Ament" mantel.

Happy Birthday Pat. We have never met but I have always enjoyed your writings and SuperTopo contributions over the years. May they, and your annual solar revolution trips, continue, unabated!

I have had too many health challenges lately, and too much existential despair, the loss of too many friends, and life sailing away like some bird I thought was a pet, but a few thoughtful well wishes seem to slow the poison that flows in my veins (what happens when your kidneys start to find it hard to purify things). So good to see my great friend John Gill's name. So good, Phil, to think about bouldering and Barry Bates. He and I loved to boulder, a dear friend. So good to hear from old Supertopo friends. Maybe I should come back a little. It's only 1 a.m. now, and usually I am up all night, because I haven't slept for about a month and a half. I'm in another realm. I guess that's how life is. Take care, all my friends.

Happy B-day, Pat! We have never met but your deeds in the late '60's and 70's were always an inspiration to this young Colorado climber BITD. Total respect, man, and hope you have a wonderful day.
