I don't live here the way some do, but from one former Jacksonite to another, welcome.

Also, I think I taught your sister's kid a number of years ago here in Boulder.

Cool Peter! If you do a good job replacing Donini while he's off the intardnet, you are more than welcome.

Stories with photos please.

Thank you for your attendance!

Peter: Welcome. Glad you're here. Just in time to hear that Vandiver, who says he hasn't climbed in 15 years, threatens to join some other elders at CoR in late September. Care to join us?

Peter is a great addition for Super Topo and the campfire. He was an Exum Guide in the Tetons for 46 years and because he loved climbing he squeezed as many routes in as he could in between guiding. Peter also spent time climbing in Yosemite, Alaska and participated in seven expeditions to the Himalayas.

The last three years of his guiding were spent at Sylvan Rocks, South Dakota Needles where he says, "Thankfully the approaches were very short.
Then the damndest thing happened, I got old."

Peter is now retired in Ouray, CO along with several other worn out climbing guides known locally as the La Brea Tar Pit Crew, the old dinosaurs.

Hello Peter. It's been quite a while since the Jenny Lake boulders hasn't it? Time flies.

He could just as well be levitating to a higher plane.

Pete, you might or might not remember me (Richard Goldstone) from the sixties---I was around in the Tetons a lot. I owe a debt of eternal gratitude to the Exum guides, who started me on a lifetime of climbing in 1957 on the OS Route.

And then, along with Gill and Kamps and others, I spent quite a week or two or three in the Needles for many years running. An interesting place to guide I would think...

Anyway, welcome! You might want to add your name to this: http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum/3104117/Fifty-years-of-climbing-club-the-roster

I thought this thread was about the K-12 scale or perhaps the 12-K scale. It seems to work both ways here sometimes :-).

Cheers! Welcome to the campfire!

Hi Peter, Welcome. We are all working our way back down the grades. But, we are in good company. Luckily there is still skiing.

Welcome, Peter! While I climbed some in the Tetons in the 60's, I don't think we ever met, but I'm somewhat familiar with your adventures and would love to hear and see more here! Thanks for joining us!

A hearty welcome from the bottom Peter!
Glad that Lynne is steering the stalwarts our way.
Consider yourself a Sabre Toothed Tiger or Mastodon rather than a dinosaur and you will fit right in here.
Cheers

To Rich Goldstone, John Gill, and Norm Larson, and all others who remember me (and I remember you) I am honored. And to other names think I recognize, but don't know for certain, or can't remember if we have met. Like 'Yeti from Ketchem'; would like to join the old farts in CoR in Sept, will have to wait and see. For further interest, here is a short version of my, now long ago, climbing life (hard copy actually in AAC Library in Golden). Copy and paste this long address onto your search bar.
