Gordon Santee, champion powerlifter now 71 years old, officiated at a meet where my wife competed yesterday... She thinks he's so cute she can't stop talking about him.

But seriously, much respect. Is Donini the Gordon Santee of climbing?

hey there say, ksolem... wow... it is really something, though,
to be able to 'be what you want to be' and FOR nearly all your life-time...

or, all your life-time, in his case...

we just got to keep taking a 'step at a time' :)

thanks for sharing...

edit: nice to hear that your wife got to compete, at her gym... :)

Come on, Grigs could crush this guy and is only a few months younger. Hell, I might have to start lifting just to crush him too!

665.5 pounds

What was the allocation between the 3 lifts? Does anyone know?

Random stat 2013

Sy Perlis, a 91-year-old weightlifter, bench-pressed 187.2 pounds last week to break the world record in the 90-and-over age division, the Arizona Republic reported.

{IMO a pretty useless exercise which often causes injury}

For what it's worth, the rules of power lifting dictate violating this (again IMO) 'don't break 90" guideline for "safe" bench pressing:

Here's Sy

And, in action (violates the guidline @ :36, but you can't violate the rules and be a champ).

Michele's father is 95 and I think he could break this record with a little bit of practice.

^^^Maybe not a spectator sport for many but I find weight training to help in preventing injuries. I need to do more. I can squat anything in reason if needed but my father-in-law just paddled with me on the Kings twice (I already posted) . Paddled and swam and tent camped for 8 days, and he is like Yoda in stature and looks, even talks a little like him as he is Chinese. He is 74. Props to the man having something he is into and has a community that supports him. Thats as healthy as any new age diet. IMO.

Jimmy Mac, Bob Gains And I look pregnant?

I have turned from washboard to potbellied.

I seem to get cramps that can double me over in pain.
but that has been avoided mostly by climbing nothing wide.
and climbing at lower (and lower) grades.

it is 4:30am, Im on a stationary bike . . .
never was a gym person, some how I missed that?

I was "cut" for years, then the reverse.pot bellied!

the Gnome name is no joke

I'm growing round.

I have tears in the muscles around my belly.
The Doc pushes my belly button, till it hurts.

The worst are high up by the last rib, when that sucker rolls
I see stars, I've needed help & wish I'd passed out.

Whats up with the -lazy core- gut?
the anti 6pack the beer ball belly?
And I don't Drink, I eat simple,fresh healthy foods
it is high carb and sugar, but not any soda or crap
I'm not fat, just round, like

Abdominal pain like that is not normal, even for a gnome... possible partial hernias maybe? I'd get that checked out purty quick.
