EVERY LIVING THING HAS A SOUL

That we humans fail to see the life force as sacred and special, given that nature provides such clear examples of living things displaying emotions, responding to kind treatment, is, to me, evidence that man is an alien mutation on this planet

Every animal has the potential to be . . . .

not change perception in as dramatic a fashion, but still teach humans to be more tolerant & compassionate

Koko was reported to use language deceptively, and to use counterfactual statements for humorous effects, suggesting an underlying theory of other minds.

I recently rewatched the documentary on Koko.
What will poor Penny do? Koko was a family member in a far greater sense than a pet.

Did she ever interact with other gorillas? The NPR article referred to her as an ambassador to humans.
