Locker is the twisted soul of this place.
He re-souled my Troll shoes.
For that I'm grateful.
This place needs him.

I won't buy any ST products until he's back.

You want to ban someone?
Ban Werner

Werner.

Jk. You ban Werner and I'm never buying 5.tennies again.

As I type this, Locker's account is simply deactivated.

And likewise, if you search his posts, for just a little while longer you may see this:

But make no mistake about it: CMAC and RJ (or just the moderators, whomever they may be) have suspended his account, yes, but according to Locker's specific request, if the moderators honor it, everything in that second screenshot will soon disappear.

I've been exchanging e-mails with Locker and he told me unequivocally that he wants everything he's contributed to the Taco stripped out, deleted. Hasta la Vista baby!

IIRC, this is what happened with Cosgrove: it wasn't the moderators, it was Scott himself who asked for all of his posts to be deleted.

.........................................................

Now, concerning the gripes and suggestions department:

Nah000, remember this thread, the one in question were locker posted up the "modern art" which got the thread canned?

The moderators started not by deleting Warbler's flip the bird photograph, but they stripped out all of his posts from that thread.

I found this disappointing, as did Yos Guns, who was having what I would call a fruitful conversation with Warbler. She expressed her disappointment that their conversation was reduced to little more than a monologue from her.

And I'm estimating a half dozen other people expressed consternation as well, explaining that Warbler had been, aside from the offending photograph, completely civil throughout his comportment on that thread.

At that point I tried to save the thread to the way back machine, and neglected to archive a copy for myself in PDF. I didn't realize that the way back machine needed the thread to be saved in show all mode to capture the entire thing. So we only see the first page. Regardless, without Warbler's post, it was neutered anyhow.

You and I, Nah000, also enjoyed what I considered to be a pretty meaningful exchange. And I put in a bit of effort, voice dictating and transcribing a passage from a book, and that's just not right for all that stuff to be deleted.

Which is what happened to the thread after Locker made his "modern art" posts.

Which were, BTW, clearly pushing the envelope, as they were simplistic line drawings of the female form with vaginal representations made out of what appeared to be rose petals.

Then, the entire thread was deleted. And not just the first post. Were that the case, I could still search the thread, investigate a couple of the links which Yos Guns placed, and archive what was left of our conversation for my own purposes.

No longer.

I thought about e-mailing RJ to ask if he could repopulate the thread to the Supertopo server without the first post (so that the original thread could be searchable, read, and archived), to include all of Warbler's original posts, but I'm thinking that's maybe a fools errand at this point. (I'm still thinking about it. My guess is the material isn't retrievable)

These guys, the moderators, clearly favor a scorched-earth disciplinary style when individual avatars post things in threads which violate the rules.

I've never understood this. It completely destroys meaningful conversations others have contributed quite a bit of thought and effort toward.

 I could ask why?
Or I could just man up and realize that DMT pretty much has it.

You might, Cosmic, and if you read what I wrote, you may come to understand that this whole thread could be deleted for that single post.

Ha ha, thanks for the clarification on the origin of the artwork!
Regardless, it's why Locker got a timeout, no?

At least that's what he tells me.

Recently?

So why was the thread titled "The Outdoors Profession Is Not a Place for Women" deleted?

Seriously, I've been in communication with Locker and he didn't mention anything concerning what you just described.

As for the warbler flip off photo I've seen a lot of photos
here on ST with the, FINGER.
I don't think that warrants a ban either.
The moderators thought so, Cosmic.
I've been in e-mail communication with Warbler also.

Again, probably because somebody or someone complained.

[edit]
Norton, to your subsequent post, exactly. It's all the excuse they needed, in Warbler's case.

If you could go back to the ditch 40 years ago, and record some of the deli babble, would you? You would probably have to wait for it, but there would probably be something there.

No one has probably grown up much. Maybe some things just moved to the intardweb. Deleting posts is cheap, internet storage is cheaper.

Yeah, probably Holy Moosedrool.

Hey Cosmic, didn't you complain about that girl Elena or whatever her name was and basically got her booted every time she re-joined even if she wasn't really doing anything?

"F*#K locker. There's your PC. I'm not joining your gang."
Dingus M

I'm beginning to think the deactivation is a plot by DM to take over the most posts on ST.

Locker has 50,484
Dingus Milktoast has 42,808 and counting.......

Locker nay have more posts, but only DMT posted pictures of bear turds on an island.

That's got to worth double posts at the least.

labrat, it's a well known fact that DMT is more than 73% of the posters on ST. Most of the threads here are just Dingus talking to himself. Case in point: the Wings of Steel thread.
