Trump and his foul ilk are a danger to our nation, and for the future of the people that we care about, and for people that we've never met, yet.

It is astonishing that we are tolerating a Hitler-type demagogue, when, supposedly, everybody knows to stay away from a rabid and crazy animal like that.

But, the Republican Party embraces a rabid animal, hoping, against hope, that the infection is beneficial, and not fatal. The Republican Party knows that the animal is rabid, and vicious, and crazy and tearing away at the fabric of our society . . . . . . .

. . . . . . But, the Republican Party's response to Trump's clear and present insanity is: "What is so bad, about having rabies?"

The Hell that the Evangelicals talk about (all the time} is being brought to earth by their man Trump, whose entire administration is evil, with some proclaiming to be men of God.

What god, is that?

Jeff Sessions invoked this scripture, Romans 13

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established.

This is in direct conflict with the Constitution of the United States, specifically, the separation of Church and State.

Further, Romans 13 implies that a governmental system has been established by God. Which God? The Constitution explicitly states that all Gods are equal under law, and that no single God shall rule the nation. In fact, no God, whatsoever, shall rule. The law of man shall rule. And, all Gods are equal, with respect to worship and tax-free special treatment.

Jeff Sessions, the Attorney General of the United States of America, said that separating tiny children from their parents was according to the rules of his god.

This "god" that Jeff Sessions worships is the devil. Jeff Sessions is a tool of the devil. The son of the devil. Only a monster, or the son of the devil, would take tiny children away from their parents, and put them into cages.

Jeff Sessions: you should put on some BBQ sauce. The Devil is going to COOK you for what you have done. There is no confession, or contrition available, for what you have done. You are going to HELL. The Christian concept of forgiveness does not extend to a man who is so evil, he intentionally distresses and injures other people, and especially for a sordid purpose of suckling the phallus of a false god.

I was only doing my job.

That will be the only sound that Jeff Sessions, rebuked by his entire church, will make, as the Netherworld Demons drag him into a fiery dungeon, in the Bowels of Nadir, and cook him down to a viscous, runny substance, like what a hot-shot food-channel Malibu Barbie would put onto the counter, as proof she went to some sort of cooking school in Pasadena.

Top campaign advisor for McCain and Schwarzenegger Steve Schmidt renounces his membership in the Republican Party.

Via twitter:

I have spent much of my life working in GOP politics. I have always believed that both parties were two of the most important institutions to the advancement of human freedom and dignity in the history of the world. Today the GOP has become a danger to our democracy and values.

This Independent voter will be aligned with the only party left in America that stands for what is right and decent and remains fidelitous to our Republic, objective truth, the rule of law and our Allies. That party is the Democratic Party.

He’s right. Warts and all, the Democratic party is the only viable party left that is grounded in reality and decency.

I’m strictly partisan out of necessity. To those who whine about partisans, wake up, the republcian party is hopelessly corrupted and needs to be demolished. There is only one way to do that—vote democratic and get them out of office.

They are bleeding America dry. Trump and his cronies. The Republicans. The Democrats who acquiescence.

The POTUS is not the most powerful man on earth, as the story tells. Putin is the most powerful man/person on earth.

Outside of the fact that Putin may have multi-billions laundered away, he has been overseeing the dismantling of the "West". And the "West" has been obliging him.

Forget about Obama, the Clintons, the past. Look to the future.

What do you see?

For the conservatives, and some look like alt-right in my eyes by their posts, not conservative but Trump fanatics, they do not care about consensus, as long as "their" side wins.

For the liberals on this forum, I am one, how many of us have lost the way? We have become them, in some ways. Some close-minded and spiteful.

Do not concentrate on Trump alone. There is a sickness in America and quack quack ducks are not the answer.

Trump, like a spoiled child run amok in a General Motors factory, destroying all the equipment, throwing wrenches into the machinery, and pouring acid onto people, and "Experimenting, just to see what happens".

Ford remains, as the only option.

Not so bad.

At Ford, job #1 is, get rid of the spoiled brat, for good.

So chid internment camps.

Could Trump be creating a generation of people, born in America, torn from their families, who become resentful? A new breed of terrorism?

Think about that.

EDIT
As far as I can see, and how far is debatable, Trump is on the path of creating a pariah state. I know that sounds outrageous. But just stop and think.

The duck and others (Yuri and Lituya, and others) want to stick up for Putin, it seems (I could be wrong but look at their posts). They are Kremlin apologists as far as I can see. The duck, an immigrant to America (has he proven otherwise?), wants to denigrate immigrants (I could be wrong, but…)

Putin is pissed off, He is competent unlike Trump. He saw that the dismantling of the USSR was down to "Western" meddling. So he is on a two-fold mission. Build up Russia and destroy the 'West'. Understandable in his eyes. who could blame him?

Now Trump, in bed financially with Russian money (it is there to see, look it up, I am not your nanny Trumpites, I will not hold your hand if you cry at facts).

Does 2+2 still equal 4?

a few weeks ago, at a cabinet meeting, trump brought Nielsen to tears, and she almost quit. He told she was doing a poor job.
I guess she needs a job.

Privately, many of us who know Nielsen from Georgetown cannot believe that she is the same person who we see as, if not the architect, then certainly the engineer of this tragically dark chapter of our nation's history. "How does she bring herself to do this?" questioned one mutual friend in a recent group chat among several SFS alums.

on another subject, I heard a radio report that said John Kelly, and trump don't even speak. Kelly has told associates that "he is tired of trying to manage a four year old who won't listen".

House GOP is looking to cut medicare and social security to balance the budget, to compensate for the big tax cuts for the richest of the rich.

How do they include social security in the Federal budget? I thought it was supposed to be separate. Are all rules now open to alternative interpretation, backed up by alternative facts?

Trump and GOP are trying to destroy civilization. Trust and honesty are the basic elements of any society, and, somehow, we've got "leaders" who don't believe in either of them.

“The American people are fed a daily diet of nonsense-talk and lies in the form of what is effectively state media on Fox News and nobody should underestimate the threat posed by a political party where conservatism is now defined by absolute obedience to a leader with autocratic tendencies who fetishizes dictators and autocrats all over the world,”

“Whether they’re for good or bad, all trends in the United States start in California,” Schmidt said. “When you look at the demographics of the Republican Party today, its embrace of white ethno-nationalism; blood-and-soil politics of the type that you traditionally see in the European far-right—the Republican Party demographically will face its demise.”

Tom, is it only the GOP? Trump and his followers only appear to be the culprits, but how many Democrats and other are also colluding?

Norton, it is a nice evening, I am enjoying a nice cup of tea, why do you want to depress me with facts?

Hah hah. I do not believe in a God, but if there is one, may he or she or it bless America, because America certainly needs it.

I'm almost out the door, for a 150 mile drive to a remote ghost-town in NE Nevada, to look for minerals of interest. I'll be listening to Fox News on the way. It does help me understand what the "Trumpists" believe, although I do have to turn off the Fox "talking heads" every now & then when they get a little too shrill.

tRump and his ilk live in a compassionless world where there are only winners and losers. "Winning" is the only thing that matters, so every end justifies the means to that end. He comes from privilege, and has gotten virtually everything he has through lying, stealing, fear and intimidation. To his supporters, that makes him "strong" and someone worthy of admiration. That is why he cozies up to other dictators. He was not kidding when he said he wished the American people loved him like Kim.

Make no mistake, this is a coup. The tRump aligned GOP are on the path to legitimize a privileged ruling class, with a large base of serfs to support it. They are forcing us to choose a side.

Neither should we forget the mean, which at the present day is lost sight of in perverted forms of government; for many practices which appear to be democratical are the ruin of democracies, . . Those who think that all virtue is to be found in their own party principles push matters to extremes; they do not consider that disproportion destroys a state.

Heck Stahl, to iterate, I am just enjoying a dry Irish evening. And then you hit me with these truths. It is not fair. Cannot I have a nice cup of tea in peace?

No. I cry for America, I cry for my country. Yeah the Trump and his BS is going on, but I sincerely believe it will hit the fan. While I have lived and worked abroad (about 47% of my life, by calculations) I am still an American. The US will survive this Trump shitstorm. We are stronger than that prick.

The differences between the Democrats and Republicans became so pronounced as far back as the early 1900's beginning with child labor laws.

That trend has only accelerated to this day, and for that reason I will only vote for Democrats, across the ballot box.

John Kasich, Republican governor of Ohio, is a good example.

On the surface he comes across as oh so moderate, such a nice guy.

But consider why he chose to be a member of the Republican Party to begin with,
and go back and read his history of quotes showing he carries their water as well as anyone.

The Bernie people voted for the candidate they liked the best and in so doing they handed the Presidency to Donald Trump.

Vote Democrat, don't be a coward and vote for any random someone you "like".
And IF you cannot defend the Democratic Party platform in every single detail, then don't vote Democrat.
