Further to my last post, contrary to some people's beliefs or implications, I do not believe that most liberals want Trump to "fail" with the Kim talks, I sincerely believe most sound and sane people, liberals and conservatives, want to find a solution to the "Korean" situation.

I hope for the best outcome for the talks, or as least for positive dialogue and progression towards a peaceful solution.

That said, I do not trust Kim or Trump one iota as far as their concerns are for peace. As far as I can tell, and of course I am not an expert on the matter, just my gut feeling, neither man has altruistic motives but rather ulterior motives… such as making sure they stay in power and enrich themselves further.

Neither gives a damn about the "people". That is how I see it. I'd hope I am wrong. For the world for the people.

Jerry Molen ("Death of a Nation"), sounds like he has turned into a right-winger. He didn't seem so when I interviewed him at Amblin in 1995. People do change.

Let's see how well this "We're America B!" strategy works for us in the coming decades as China continues it's economic growth and continues to expand it's military with more equipment and more investment and more soldiers that will inexorably overpower us. We'll try to match and escalate for a while, until our history of deconstructionist government policies catch up and we can no longer generate enough tax base to pay for that military (never mind all the society-advancing programs we canceled long before). Then we go running to whomever is left in NATO, and we will find no help because in deconstructing ourselves we have also deconstructed the world order that would have provided some oversight of individual nations.

We will become the victim of our own short-sighted game. And people in small towns across America will blame whatever President is in office at that point, and look back longingly at how great President Trump was and we need a new leader to bring back that pride we felt in those days.

Is it a case that every generation is doomed to repeat the mistakes of the previous generation?

Ad infinitum.

So it is a learning curve, a process, that every generation has to go through? Is that in order to grow?

We will become the victim of our own short-sighted game.

There is no short-sighted game. Trump is simply a 2-bit player with a role to follow perhaps with a little of his own orange flair. If he strays too far, he'll be removed.

The game is actually long and there's plenty of ruin to plunder in this empire still on it's inexorable way down. Others will rise.

The real game is measured in thousands of years and scores of generations.

We're along for the ride squabbling among ourselves over BS propaganda, false dichotomies, and table scraps tossed into the ring. Same as it's ever been.

In solidarity with the Golden State Warriors. Justify has turned down an invitation to the White House. He decided that if he wanted to see a horse's ass, he would have finished second.

don't fall for it !!

do not answer easily answerable questions from conservatives...

it enables them, it is not your job to educate conservatives..

they need to learn how to do internet searches on their own, without your help

PUD confidently posted:

Your paychecks go farther than they have in the last decade because he is not afraid to dismantle the insane regulations put on this nation by the last admin.

Name those regulations passed into law by the Obama Administration that were "insane"
and then "dismantled", therefore resulting in larger paychecks for me

ATG, I do not have those stats or those cities.

But on another note, I am glad you have been paid fully by the Trump organization and treated well.

However, perhaps you can explain the many contractors and sub-contractors who have complained or indeed filed legal complaints against the Trump organization? Or the multiple (hundreds, some say thousands) of lawsuits that Donald Trump has been involved in, either as a defendant or a plaintiff?

That is a heck of a lot of litigation. It strikes me as something not being on the level.

I do no think you are a troll. Nobody who claims to be in the sheet metal business would lie or exaggerate. One of my best friends is in the sheet metal business.

Also, stick by your leader, Mr Trump. You are on a winner.

Best wishes, Patrick

I’m sure the families of the 4600 dead Puerto Rican’s are wearing maga caps in appreciation of trump’s deft handling of last year’s disaster.

The paper towels also came in handy.

At the end of the day, Donald Trump is just another piece of crap in my eyes. If he achieves his "greatness", so be it, he will always be crap in my eyes. It is not hate, despise yes, but I can see through him.

But as many have said and pointed out, he is but a symptom of the malaise that affects all of the US, and perhaps indeed, the world.

I am no philosopher, but I have been around the block and in more than one country, living and working. Trump is not a saviour as his loyal followers believe, nor the sycophants in the so-called Republican party who support him.

If he achieves some sort of intelligent, successful plan for the Korean issue, kudos to him. But as I see it, both Kim and Trump are not doing it for the common good, but for themselves. Time will tell.

Trump supporters, he does not give a flying f for you, you are just a means to an end for him.

Trump dissenters, it does not look good.

He will be re-elected, the way things are going now. Perhaps it may change.

That is my two cents. I will rebut anybody, but only if they have a serious contention with my POV. Otherwise, let's not waste each other's time.

EDIT
And to be honest, I have really never liked any of the post-war (WW2) presidents, those that were in my lifetime. Carter, good heart but sort of weak, I kind of liked Ike.

Who in the world would want to be POTUS. Don't look at me. No thanks. I'll leave it to the vain, self-righteous, glory-hunting megalomaniacs out there. Good luck and good riddance.

Before I was born? FDR? yeah, I suppose so. Okay.

Teddy was okay, but then my grandfather was a Rough Rider with him, so there is a bias. And he liked national parks.

Otherwise I cannot think of a POTUS that has inspired me. Lincoln? Perhaps. Jefferson? Washington? Meh.

Wow ATG, us liberals are a threat to America. I never knew that.

Some may say that the right-wingnuts are a threat to America.

Who to believe?

They have the lie about everything and use deception and chaos to get their way which ultimately brings everything to ruin.

Wait a minute, are you telling me that Donald Trump is a liberal? I never knew that.

Easy words on your part ATG. I suppose easy words on my part too.

Hook, line and sinker. They've got you ATG. That's cool, to each their own.

Sometimes my critical thinking faculty is f*#ked up too, usually because of one glass of wine too many. What is your reason/excuse?

Liberals are a bigger threat to our country than ISIS could ever dream of being. But, there is always the opt out option.
Leave the country. Leave the world. Gtfo and bye.

Gtfo? Like get the f*#k off and bye? So you do not like other people's opinions but those that jive with yours, is that right? People who disagree with you are not worthy of a place on this planet?

Wow. If that is not elitism I do not know what is.

I still do not think you are a troll. But I am glad there are still reasonable conservatives and liberals out there. Oh wait, us liberals are the real threat to America, according to the gospel of ATG.

Get real dude.

Dirtbag, I know, but I do not think this guy (gal?) is a troll. I think he/she really believes that liberals are a threat to the US. How so effing sad. I do not think that conservatives are a threat to the US, I think they are a plus, like liberals.

ATG, if he is 'real', his line of narrow thinking, be it left or right or cosmic, is the threat to democracy.

Just my opinion, what do I know, right ATG?

EDIT

And if ATG is a troll, then the hook, line and sinker has got me. Hah hah.

I love it, I am having fun. I used to take it seriously, perhaps still do in some ways, but then I read what I have written, what others have written and I think: "There must be more to life than this. Where is the nearest rock? If I cannot climb it, I'll jump off." Hopefully there will be deep water below.

I think the Calanques, limestone and then "plonck" in the Med, Three Pools off of 120 down the fire trail from Rainbow Pool (after Buck Meadows before Yo NP entrance) .

ATG go jump in a lake. The bridge over Berryessa is a good start. Fun too.
