A few more......

It continues to blow me away how broad and vast our campfire is. What a special treat that so many people who loved Jim, Peggy and Layton came to celebrate his life and bless all of us with their presence, giving each of us new found friendships.

I'm the mamacita and proud of it. :)

nice photo of Vern and Claude. Is that Bob Harrington on the left?

Bruce,

That is Andy Selters on the left with Rick Linkert in the background photo bombing (between Selters and Clevenger).

Amazing gathering, but so little time. There were hundreds of people I would have liked to catch up with, but the ones I saw brought back many memories. Some of them were even true.

Jeff Dozier (Dr. Deeg) once pointed out that as one gets older two things happen to the memory: You forget things that happened, and you remember things that didn't.

The report in Alpinist, by Ed Hartouni: http://www.alpinist.com/doc/web18s/newswire-bridwell-memorial-recap

For many of those present, the words of the superintendent, and the blessing and prayer by Lucy Parker, were very fitting to the occasion. Just as Mrs. Parker began her prayer, a large raven flew over and croaked. That might have been symbolic or something, but it happened every ten minutes or so - from long distance caws, the ravens knew that good food was to be had.

From Alpinist -- "Yosemite Search and Rescue team (YOSAR), which was founded by Bridwell, "

I thought it was Pete Thompson Valley district ranger who founded YOSAR back then?

He wanted Bridwell to head it but Jim declined .......

Such a wonderful tribute to Jim Bridwell, and a great gathering of old friends.

Ron,

A huge thanks to you and all who gathered to honour Jim's memory.
Great to see so many familiar faces in the pictures posted here.
Wish I could have been there but couldn't get away from work for the long trip to Yosemite.

Best to all of you!
