I have actually been using an old photo chemical thermometer from back in my days of souping my own film. expensive at the time High quality glass but in 2 degree increments so not super easy to read. Sucks having a fever. just drove all the way to town for critical supplys but got there with no wallet. its full blown mud season and 3.5 miles of shitty dirt road...

Glad to hear you're still this side of the veil, Trad.

Bonus, if you believe Donald Perry over on the tick thread, that your fever may have wiped out latent rickettsial beasties running around in your fluids from years of NE dubbing. No need to parboil in the sauna!

Hope Isa's feeling better as well.

Wait! I was mostly kidding.
I'm not buying that theory, mind you, but he seems to have sources espousing such a thing as persistent elevated body temp maybe somehow helping either kill 'em all or stimulate your immune system to greater heights.

Upside, he's right.
Downside, only your brain would have been fried, and we only use, what, 10% of that. Plenty to spare, especially ice climbers.
Hunker down for the next snow this week and yeah, maybe ice will build another time or two this season.

finally got the plowing done. threw a chain, went backwards down the hairpin, spun a 180 and hit a tree with the plow semi deliberately to stop and get my sh#t together...

Yep... the long-term fatigue and other adverse effects from the real flu aren't a joke...

Look on the bright side, at least it's not -15 and blowing 25 today.
