Dave’s niece Devon will arrange for his creamation & we will have a memorial in the spring in New Paltz. His ashes will be scattered in the Gunks. If anyone wants to brin some to a particular place, that’s he awesome. The rest will be brought up to Mt. Marcy to be scattered with Stephen’s remaining ashes to join where their sister Jenny’s & mother Barbara’s ashes have been left. Thank you all for these stories. We will remember Dave in his prime. He reached his dream at a very young age.

I confess I had named a climb after Dave and changed the name. Gotta change it back now------Dave was indeed a pretty a pretty cool guy to hang out with, if you had a problem he always had some insights that would bring you back to reality. But the reality of the situation (climbing is not all its cracked up to be) made him board. RIP Dave.

Very sad news.
Condolences to Dave's family and friends.

I met Dave as part of "General" George Manson's crew back in the late seventies.
He was talented and complex like most of us.

George's death on McKinley was a loss that deeply affected most who knew him.

RIP Dave

I agree except for one, now redacted (after Gina called DS to complain), major inaccuracy:

> STEVE LANMAN DID NOT AXE HIMSELF !!!! <

I trust that the publication will print a formal apology for this inaccuracy in a hard copy.
Thanks! This would mean a lot to family and friends.
