I'd buy the chocks, carabiners and pitons, but will leave it to someone across the pond. Let me know if no one buys...

If you are willing to sell these item individually then I would buy the biggest Rearick chock for $100.

The leftmost carbiner at the top, the vertical piton between the RURP and Crack N Ups and the spoonbill piton bottom center are also something that I would like if I can get a little more information. If the other two carabiners at the top say ALCOA but not CHOUINARD anywhere I would like to offer you $100 for the nicest one.

Are the pitons in the second row stamped Holubar? The third and fourth piton from the right in that row would interest me if Holubar.
Thanks for offering this gear here.

That is the stuff in many dreams of those who gnow.
There are a few other collectors here, who will like your collection.
I do, and I cant even offer, by the buy , or make more than this nut gallery comment. Steve has been a gentleman collector from what Ive seen,
and his ask is so far from what a greedy gear hound would say, I hope he gets a few wooden chocks.
That said you would do your self a favor to look at the "old Mystery Gear thread to realize maximum cash for your cache.

Ho yeah, I bet he would,
thats friitz for you
getting the bidding started, a good one, too.
Id say it is very close but there are at least 4 others who post here on the regular, who have the 'cake' (cheddar, samoliens, Coin)
and knowledge.
let them chime in before you let go of anything,
I think a Thousand dollars is to high,
but if they pay the shipping,
buy it all,
it could bring that much , in a bidding war

Gnow Ive pissed off a gun tottin' idahoian, yikes! Sorry Fritz but you have to admit theres a gem or 4 there!

My advice is to not jump at any offers immediately. You have some high dollar, very desirable gear there. I see a Longware piton, Alcoa carabiners...do some research and see what this is worth. A few have offered reasonable prices for sure, but you will do yourself a disservice if you accept an offer for a large batch of it without knowing what it is worth.

Wow...neat old stuff!

Those Chouinard hammers are pretty vintage. And, look minty pristine.

Pretty sure her time line is a bit off. More like late 1960s.

Wooden nuts! I remember reading about a thousand years ago that Dave Rearick crafted chocks out of the notable native hardwood Osage Orange. You might want to check this out yourself, but I believe that Osage Orange has some kind of occult following among builders of fine art guitars as especially hard and dense, for especially resonant back-and-side sets and maybe necks, I guess. Anyway, I heard much of Rearick, but never met him. He must have been a lovely guy. Let's hear it for wooden nuts!

The wooden nuts are made by Dave Rearick. Most were osage orange but he did experiment with some other woods as well. Mine are also some oak, mahogany, and I cannot remember what else. I called Dave to ask and he said he couldn't remember exactly what woods he used for mine. At one time he planted a whole row of osage orange trees on his Boulder property. He had a stroke 3 years ago and sold his house. Someone tore everything down (trees included) and built a mini mansion. The "plugs" as he called them do have a bit of a cult following. I actually used mine. Wood is pretty sticky and in the right shaped placement I think just fine. But then again I started climbing in piton days and we actually started threading regular bolts with rope in the early days of nut experimentation. I also did a climb with John Gill and Pat and when I froze in one section, John pulled out clothesline ( yes clothesline) to belay me. We were "bouldering" about 100feet off the ground. I remember he reassured me he had just bought it at Kmart or something. Gear has really transformed climbing.
I was hoping for offers but I'll need some time to figure out fair prices.
