Gross materialist gadget freak lives to consume techy knowledge when mind is spiritually brain dead...

Okay.. that was funny.. hahaha

Werner.. its still cool to see.

The warning about the roof avalanching is legit. It looks like Jim had a composite roof. those don't avalanche as hard. A friend in Yosemite west switched to a metal from a composite and the roof avalanched and took out his porch railing a number of years ago.

I will be building in Joshua Tree and would like to go off the grid solar.
Does anyone have advice on where to start researching/investigating this? I would like to have some knowledge before I talk to any companies.

AP.. Chris went solar a few years ago and did a report on it. He is grid tied though. So different from being completely off the grid.

No batteries, we feed into the grid.

Ah, now that's different. We don't know about any of that up in our parts but when I went to Hawaii my eyes were opened. Sister's bill went from $500/mo to about $100. No other equipment really to buy and maintain other than the panels themselves, probably the least expensive component in solar systems.

Nice Jim.
