As much as I have concerns about 'the gym effect' on outdoor areas, I'm both surprised and gladdened when I see stuff like this. I took advantage of the matching funds opportunity. I hope to see more elbows out there on the crags replacing needed and popular but worn out anchors and lead bolts.
thx all!

Upper echelon management at PG has always been far-sighted and have taken the opportunity to help foster a good working relationship between outdoors and indoor climbing. They were particularly helpful in the successful effort to reopen Summit Rock in Sanborn-Skyline County Park to climbing after it was shut down. Replacing worn out bolts is definitely a good thing for all climbers.

Thank you & good job to donors (esp. Planet Granite!) & retro-bolting volunteers! I had the pleasure of helping Mark Wagner & the Joshua Tree crew a month ago or so, & would like to continue to help doing when I'm in a more permanent situation.
