hey there say, it is one of those cold rainy nights, and has been raining for about two days straight, the kind that make you want to be
warm and cozy, and SHARE WITH LOVED ONES, or close friends...
the kind that make you REMEMBER those you knew...
and times you enjoyed them...
even if you did not know them well...
as, most folks here, i only know by 'online'
yet-- i was thinking of jeff batten, who posted here... and how
we'd see his 'earthquake posts' and...
and, 'paul's balls, paul, and his wife' ... :(
and, was thinking of course, of bobby model, being gone,
as:
when i FIRST joined-up, bobby was in serious injury, from
a head-injury, :(
he made it, but, about a year later, he sadly died, from
getting sick, :(
HERE IS A SALUTE to those of our 'quilt' or, THOSE that
were in the climbing community and are now very much
missed by any, some, or all of us,
depending on WHO of us, knew who, etc...
and who, were the ones that posted, that we NOW miss...
i CAN think of a few others, too,
but YOU ALL, can join in and salute THOSE that you miss, too...
a salute to you, that are gone...
YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN...
you helped make us, in some ways, grow, and learn...
a salute to you, this eve...
(if we neglect to mention a name, at a moment, it does not mean
they were not special, just that others were on our mind
at this time) ...
and, too, i can think of a few folks that would be
MUCH more happy to mention their friends, here,
that i of course, did not know that much--
i sure hope you do, have a salute to them...
thank you for your time, this eve...

My thoughts go out to my friends Andrew Sawyer and Charlie Fowler . . . one gone by his own hand, the other by the mountain. Autumn in the high country reminds us of the seasonal passing of life, both plant and animal.

hey there say, ... just a bump, before taco sinks...
i was thinking on all these folks, one night, long ago...
the THREAD sunk, too, back then...
however, i DO KNOW THAT someone here made a nice thread about
climbers that had died 'during the past year' (around one of the new years?? i think) ...
let's see what we can find...
there were PART of the quilt...
woody, comes to mind, now, too...

Still missing OUCH and Brutus Of Wyde. They're probably on the other side laughing at the exodus.

Too many.
Although Curt (dirtineye) didn't get much respect here, he hit me as a real person that in his dying days was honest.
Jello. An inspiration to my ice climbing.
