So if your taste runs toward TRs of picnics in beautiful places, it may be that I will oblige!
One of our latest tricks, is to share those picnics with our blowup doll, Molly. It's quite a threesome!
Lisa does the paddling, I organize the hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, and the unsinkable Molly Brown provides untold hours of bouncy pleasure!

mkay, slightly buzzed, TBuster Rocky Mountain Picnic Thread.
So, our comic book heroine, The Bunny, and her trusty-busted sidekick, Tarbousier, made away with the second picnic of the year today.
(first picnic staged at a nice sandstone bench placed at the short loop of the Blue Dot Trail adjacent to Magnolia East, was a dry run, yo)

But about that picnic:

Lisa will be running to the top, via the road, in just a couple of weeks:
Primary goal of picnicking ... sheltering from the wind on the lee side, catching a good dose of red wine & sunshine before a veil of clouds closes back in:
We interrupt this broadcast for the wine tasting notes:
Quadrant Wines, Quadrant BDX, Paso Robles
Merlot 34%, Cabernet Sauvignon 26%, Petite Sirah 25%, Petit Verdot 15%
Alcohol 12.8% by volume
On the nose: boysenberry, flint, noticeable acidity...guessed syrah and zinandel as the informing grapes.
Color in the glass: ruby and purple at edge.
In mouth: full bodied, Merlot comes thru with roundness and bell pepper.
Good backbone to the blend delivered by the Cabernet. Wish I had bought more! Paid about seven or eight dollars a bottle.
Impressions, which Lisa dictated into her phone for me after we sought shelter in the car:
This is how I want my life to be: toasted 57-year-old body, 12 & half-year-old consciousness, hiding from the cold on a beautiful spring day in a secluded CO state park, recalling the tasting notes for the terrific red wine Lisa and I just shared on our picnic. (Essentially a Paso Robles version of a right bank Bordeaux). All the while sheltering from the 40° weather under the sanctuary of the car heater, and listening to the soothing refuge of jazz by Wessel Anderson.

There ain't nothin' as good on the taco as a Tarbuster TR. Doesn't matter if it's a horribly hard objective from the past or a pleasant day out with some good vino, it's all in the style.

Check it out, a report for you on a mutual friend of ours, or more specifically, her daughter.
Helga's daughter, Claire, ripping it up in Indian Creek just last month:
If everything goes according to plan, Claire will be at CU Boulder in the fall.
 Watch this space for evidence of some real climbing action from the next generation!
