Gimme weed (not Jimson), whites and wine

#hash_oil (is that redundant?)

public service announcement. I don’t know if I have hammered this point home enough, but if you are not an expert at making butane hash oil (BHO), PUT EVERYTHING DOWN, TURN OFF THE STOVE, GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR BUM, AND EXIT THE KITCHEN. Making BHO is a very dangerous thing, and if you slip up in any way, you will no doubt light something on fire, including yourself.

Is Jimson weed legal now?

Bad experience is usually from lack of tolerance combined with high potency, where people either get paranoia/existential dread, or couch locked.

Pay close attention to this man's wisdom.

Maybe I didn't get the right stuff, but nothing I've tried here and now holds a candle to what we had...

The right stuff is out there . . . be careful about your selection and avoid "commercial" operations. Quality varies widely in the legal recreational market.

Winemaker! Re your post:
Just don't like it now is my perspective.

I have similar background & current experience.

That wine stuff is a pretty-good high.

That weed had a grip on me for 35 years and I never thought I was going to be able to get away from it. Been straight for over a year now and don't miss the weed at all. Took a puff last Christmas and totally hated the experience. For me rock climbing every day and an occasional shot of moonshine is total happiness!

San Diego will have a fully legal and regulated marijuana industry including pot farms, factories making edibles and retail storefronts selling the drug to both medical and recreational customers.

The City Council voted 6-3 on Monday to legalize local cultivation, manufacturing and testing of marijuana when new state laws take effect in January.

Marijuana is for sick people.

America is very sick now more than ever.

That's why they legalized it now .....

Never much of one for the herb. As mentioned above, I had a BAD experience at a Grateful Dead concert, and it wasn't just the music. (Heh. See what I did there?) Had a huge, nasty reaction with heavy existential dread. Haven't touched the stuff since. It is interesting to read here, however, how different the effects can be based on the strain. That makes sense. Like the OP, a couple of times when I was in my late teens/early twenties, I tried shrooms and had a pretty good time. I tried them again in my late twenties and hated it. I was out hiking, and the outdoors are better for me without any strong chemicals. A couple of beers at the end of the day is plenty. We do change over time. That's for sure.

That's exactly what happened. And it wasn't pleasant.

A fresh herbaceous bong drawn through ice water, paired with a spicy Chianti and rich Tuscano cheese... America is certainly not sick!

Mark Hudon should be here regaling us on the merits of coffee. IMO, it might be the best drug out there, other than serotonin, dopamine, adrenalin, endorphins, and oxytocin. (These latter are most often regulated through diet and orientations of mind.) I love coffee.

Tried it (BITD) but like a few posters just didn't gravitate to it.
I always have to be on the move and I didn't like the "grooooooovvvvvy" let the world go by feel.
The ritual was kinda fun, the food, the sharing of joints, stuffing towels under dorm room doors. Turning over my senses just doesn't cut it for me.

If I needed it for reasons related to health, like chemo or something I wouldn't be adverse to trying it again. But for everyday living a yoga class does it for me!

Anybody remember the old marijuana album "A Child's Garden of Grass"?

I laughed my head off at the line, "There's a funny smell in the room."

Come on, somebody join me here...

Winemaker, did you ever wonder if you were pairing your joint with the right red? I recommend a good Pinot.

Ah yes, there's a reason I love Christmas... Reds and green.

Dude, if you are smoking so much you "lost control" then you are over doing it by a long shot. The way to do it is to use just barely enough to push you into a very fine micro buzz that just adds a little afterglow to things. Then you can decide if more is what you want. You can gain this level of control of the effects easily with a vaporizer, once you are familiar with the potency of the strain of cannabis you are using.

If you haven't drank, would you drink a whole bottle of whiskey? That can be the effect (metaphorically speaking) of smoking a high potency joint. That is WAY too much for people unless they have a very high tolerance and smoke often.

Edit: SomeBodyAnbody has the right answer as well.

If you weren't bouldering or skiing powder during the test the results are invalid.
