East Walker is such a neat place. Not a fisherman, but I've cycled through there a bunch. Great pics!

Awesome trip. Back at work now and thinking back on the smell of sage, the stone under our hands and meeting a new friend. What a great few days in the wild.

Thanks again Stimbo!

Darn, should've checked my phone! We were in TCG.

Only one party all day Saturday on West Crack. Funny how that works.

Love it, Micro! Man do I mis that country, been too long. The "smell of sage" part is hit like an arrow, deep pang of self-pity for being so long without getting out of the city.

This pic is great, man:

A friend's been trying to convince me on those hand jammies. You like em?

Hope to catch you out there again some time! But if not we'll always have the pizza deck haha

Le_Bruce,

On the hand jammies......yeah, they rock. Especially on delicate satin skinned mitts like mine. I have beautiful hands. It's a fact. Strangers often stop me and ask if they have seen my hands somewhere, assuming I'm a hand model. They are more steady than a brain surgeon's and more supple than fine Corinthian leather.

I was borrowing them that day and honestly they were a bit too small. I felt pumped all day and did not like the feeling, Kind of like I had over wrapped too tightly with tape. but I thought they made for more secure and less strenuous hand jams. Especially on that knobby kind of sharp granite in the Meadows. I'll be buying a pair in my size asap. Gobies are for poseurs if you ask me.

Also.....in my opinion they look better when photos are inverted.

If it makes you feel any better, I go swimming almost every time I fish the East Walker. It just sort of lulls you into thinking you can do it and then you take that one extra step and ack!

G_Gnome,

I was surprised how quick I went down! Up to my chin for about 4 seconds and 15 yards downstream. Spooky!

I used to fish the East Walker with my dad, back in the seventies. Seems like we caught a lot of carp.

Is this the prow with all the big dikes to the right of "Escape From Freedom", Vitally? Sure looks like it if my memory serves me well. Starts with a long discontinuous crack system leading to a ? blank spot giving access to the upper headwall. Looks like you solved the puzzle?
