"Sasha DiGiulian and Edu Marin make the second free ascent of Mora Mora (8c/5.14b), a 700-meter route first freed by Adam Ondra on the East Face of Tsaranoro Atsimo in Madagascar. During a final three-day push, they each free every pitch of the route ground up, swapping leads, and each lead the 8c crux pitch. The team spends 26 days in the Tsaranoro Valley altogether."

So would you agree, Kevin, that all top male climbers are also anomalies?

Bottom line

Male and female are never ever materially or subtle materially equal ever.

They are different both physically and in consciousness.

The biggest difference is consciousness ......

Yes, the general plan was a personalized weekly news update to keep him abreast of female climbing news.

Male and female are never ever materially or subtle materially equal ever.

Since, like they say, you can't compare sandstone to Sanskrit, then maybe

"... materially the same", might be mo bettah.

Any monkey or great ape, despite a wide range of strength to weight ratios, could out climb any human male or female with one hand tied behind his/her back.

So wwhat's the point?

Hardly a woman on site, but what are those kids doing there?

Carrying a baby no less

One handed and carrying a baby - sure why not

Clearly da menz & da wwiimenz outa their separate but equal leagues

Addendum:

Notice that apes don't waste their time bragging about sh_it on the Internet?

I wonder how things would stack up if the same number of women had been active in climbing as men over the same time period... I bet we would have heard "It goes boys" a lot more often :-)

My problem is with the few outspoken feminists who believe men are holding women back from equal performance in the climbing world,

Interesting turn of phrase.

A. I'm not sure anyone suggested or said "men are holding" women back from climbing performance. Your argument, each time, seemed to suggest that each time a woman did something challenging, even for men, it was an anomaly, not hard work, drive, skill and relentless passion to push and succeed. Which I think both male and female climbers have in common.

B. "Outspoken feminists". Well the unstated subtext of that choice of words is that women damn well better stfu.

For Warbles:

The Navy announced yesterday that the first woman SEAL candidate has dropped out of preliminary screening training.

The Marines also announced that after 29 women failed to pass the infantry officer training there is one still in it. She must be some kinda badazz.

I don't really have a horse in this race but Warbler did NOT call all of these great achievements by women anomalies. He called Lynn's ascent of the nose one but that is it. Don't make sh!t up just for the sake of your argument.

It is an anomaly for anyone, male or female, to climb at the level of the climbs being dusgussed.

Because of warblers posts here, the modern feminist's scientists are now busy in their secret labs to create the super woman to prove him wrong.

The super woman will do everything that man can do but 100 times better.

Then the men will have to produce Superman to get ahead again.

And around and around it goes in this stoopid world of gross materialists.

That's why the wheel is there ........

Example: Matt's posts two threads, in both he's celebrating the accomplishments of female climbers, because they're females.

Bruh, Matt is trolling you. He is not celebrating female accomplishments because they're achieved by women, he is is celebrating female accomplishments because he knows that the celebration of female accomplishments will make you mad. He's not trying to argue with you; he's making fun of you for the fact that you will take every opportunity to sh#t on the abilities of women.

And, of course, because we're predictable, it will always be followed by Tami, Susan, kingtut, etc (and me, I guess), earnestly and hopelessly believing that equality is achievable and that the staunch old defenders of sexism will someday see the light ;)

The wild thing is that woman may eventually be equal to (or possibly but less likely surpass) men in climbing.

That is not going to happen in most sports. Women on average aren't as big and strong as men. And the anomalies reflect the mean.

But climbing isn't about being big and strong (strong in an absolute sense, not strength to weight). And women are establishing a track record of accomplishments close to what men have done, which is not the case in many other sports. IMO I think it is possible that as more women climb and a higher percentage of the most dedicated and talented people are women we'll see a higher percentage of the top accomplishments done by women. Will they equal/surpass men? It's an uphill battle (sorry for the pun) but IMO it's in the realm of possibility, while it's NOT going to happen with many sports.

It would be interesting to see a comparison of grip strength to body weight among the top male and female climbers. Of course that's not everything but it would give an indication.

Women have a lower center of gravity compared to men. I would think this would be an advantage in slacklining, but not sure if it would help or hurt in climbing.

And you would know about women's consciousness how, Werner? Have you been both male and female??

Or were you just trolling? ;-)

Werner has of course lived many lives and we are all sure that some of those have been as women.
