And la sportiva approach shoes last, on average, at least four times as long.
Which one has the lowest cost dollar per mile?
Or dollar per pitch? Oh yeah, you can't climb in five ten approach shoes...

I think you meant price, not cost. As a full time guide who uses approach shoes every day, I can't afford five tennies. Too much replacement cost.

I have Sportiva approach shoes and 5.10 .....

I find the Sportiva hike really well.... and the 5.10 free climb very well like 5.11 well.

and to all the photos of 5.10- all broken down.... did you get your moneys worth? Or are you guys trying to say they look that way after a few days?

Just my opinion... $.02

If you can climb it in five ten Approach shoes ( not climbing shoes) you can climb it in hush puppies

I used/use 5.10 shoes because my life depended on them.

The rubber works like a gecko in wet conditions.

LA Sportiva rubber is not as good.

To the layman it doesn't matter that much but to me it did.

There were times when I could access a highly dangerous area easily while everyone else was way behind using ropes and gear.

There was one time where they were so scared they wouldn't even trust their ropes and gear to get across while I casually walked back and forth.

I eventually had to secure a guide line for them.

And that was for the rescue team .......

I use a pair of the newer ones. They fit my semi-wide, high volume foot great..but no heel brake! I was slipping and sliding all over on firmer, wet/icy terrain..LOL..I know it's sticky rubber for rock surfaces, but there always isn't a yellow brink road to the crag. They need a set of breaks!!
