I'll be in the Tetons celebrating my birthday this weekend and would like to climb the Snaz or something similar on Sat. or Sunday. I know the routes and have the gear....let me know if interested.

Wish I could join you out there Jim for a mutual birthday week climb. Join Rgold as well, but am more prosaically stuck at work. Happy birthday and have a good climb. Alan

Happy Birthday and many more great adventures in the near and far future, Jim Donini. Setting the bar for those over 50. :)

Death Canyon, Death Valley, Hell Hole Canyon ...... are there any Life Valley's or Fun Canyons? Was it all about surviving bitd? Jess wonderin'.

I'll be at the Ranch next Tuesday for three weeks---I'm guessing too late for you. The Snaz would be great. I've done it twice, forty or so years ago, but I suspect now it would seem just a tad harder, and in any case I wouldn't be up for even an attempt until I get some hiking at altitude under my belt.

Anyway, happy birthday old man! Are we talkin' 74 now?

Too bad we are going to miss each other.....perhaps next year if I know your dates beforehand. It's only a 9.5 hr. drive for me. As to altitude, I'm living at a higher altitude in Ouray. 74 it is....my oh my I never thought it would happen to me.

Haha, I feel like I did my best to miss out on old age and failed. I'm trailing behind Donini by about four months.

I basically live and mostly climb at sea level. And have rarely been any higher than the floor of Jackson Hole for a good 25 years. I think I'm decently fit aerobically, but acclimatization is at least partially independent of fitness, so some hiking is going to be in order before I try to huff 'n puff up any climbs.

There's a bit of an approach to most routes in the Tetons...so you can get that hiking thing out of the way before you start a climb...

Ha ha.

Weather looks stellar for the weekend...

Brian....can you or someone else at the ranch climb the Snaz with me on Sunday? I'm leaving the house right now and won't be back on the Internet until this evening. Sunday is my birthday.

I'll cast out a net, Jim. I might know someone.

I'm booked this weekend.

Hopefully see you at the ranch.
