I'm with micro- go flat where appropriate. my kid's free ride comps, flat brims and phat skis. Fly fishing, red necky curved brims. Any place you are actually worried about sun exposure- a real hat!

I recently found a hat that actually fits my head from Orvis, but I claim to fly fish.

There is some kind of weird thing going on with the 'craft' hats. It's a good way to see who only hangs out with other white people. Usually accompanied by a well groomed beard, IPAs and chic luxury leather sandals.

Living in San Diego....it's a thing.

(If you're a girl your hat has to be a painting and if you are a boy it has to be a clean logo. These are the rules)

The flat brimmed hat is the new "Crown of Idiocy"™™™

It is a cringeworthy accruement.

As with most things, there are outliers. Flat brim is the worst, I'm really sorry but it is.

absolutely, image matters! i stitch ripped the brim from the crown, snugged it down, then slid the brim over to rid it of the floppy volume on top.

after i beat a $180 bicycle vs. traffic rap in this get-up
i posed for the neighbor with a rare, authentic smile.

wrinkle outta place woulda been a no-go.

that's how vain i am

Not a 'trucker' in the whole bunch. Therefore, it's ALL academic.
And Micronut, ahem, You DO NOT drive a truck. That's just another little rig.

I wear the same kinda hat as my t-shirts. The free ones. Shwag. I have an almost endless supply of hats and shirts that were free. One of the benefits of working in a restaurant with a bar. I am a walking booze ad.

What a bunch of haters. For the record, flex fit hats particularly backwards are for beer pong playing frat boys, those goofy hats with a velcro straps are for, well, dorks or bald guys. Flat brim hats? Flat brim hats: for men who like to have sex with beautiful women

Suck it, dou che bags!

I don't wear a hat. What's the motivation for everyday life?

Curious.

If the answer is somehow obvious, count me stupid as well as curious, and please fill me in. What am I missing?

I ache to be enlightened.

I had no idea they were filming a Deliverance 2

MB: I don't wear a hat. What's the motivation for everyday life?

Habit left over from baseball days and glare... for bald dudes the glare off their heads, for me glare behind my sunglasses. Toss in some sun protection since I do a lot of work outside.

^^^ Hehe

"Beautiful women" is a moving target.

In more ways than one.

Edit: Now that does make sense. Thanks for the account of it.

I was "blessed" with a full head of hair and radar-dish, protruding ears. So, my scalp is relatively safe, and a hat doesn't cover my ears unless it's one not fit for everyday use. So, all I can do is slather the sunblock and hope that scientists have a clue about that.

All the rest is just stylin'.
