I probably know the answer to this question, but anyone done one of the routes on temple crag yet this year? How's the approach and descent? Doable in trail runners??

Snow to base of all Celestial Aretes. Firm enough for spikes in AM or you could kick steps day before. Snow from Contact Pass back down to 2nd Lake. Stiff low top approach shoes with strap on aluminum crampons would be as light as I'd go.

There's a stream crossing?!
Cross at Second Lake and you don't have to deal with that sketchy mess of logs crossing at Third Lake.
