Any of y'all ride to climb?
There was a long motorcycle thread awhile back, but I don't remember too much talk about using 'em to climb.

I ride my dual sport on recon missions, then come back in the truck with all the gear.

I used to ride an old Honda CB350 to the Gunks with a milk crate tied to the back of the seat that held my climbing gear. Did that for about one year in the late 70's when you could still park right across from the spring below the Uberfall.

Now this is MY kind of post! I have been riding bikes to climbs since I got my first bike back in 1967, a Suzuki 80. That would be the POS model of that Suzuki. Been doing it ever since. My current approach vehicle is shown below:
Back in the early 1930's the Stettner brothers rode their Indians from Chicago to Estes Park and put up the Stettner Ledges route on the east face of Longs Peak. I have done that route a bunch o' times over the years (a truly great route BTW), but one of the coolest ascents was when my friend John and I rode motorcycles up to the Trail head, walked in and did it in a day. It was a long day but was so cool to channel Paul and Joe Stettner on that day.
Another approach vehicle:
Would very much love to see pics of other tacoistas' rides.
cheers

Thanks for the cool bike pics!
I moto but only on trails and connecting roads. In MT you can plate a YZ80 if you wanted to. I ride trails up on Lolo pass and have parked the moto a couple times to go recon crags I haven't seen or climbed. Unfortunately they almost always end with that funky disease...Incredible Shrinking Crag syndrome. I always see cool boulders when I am riding Pipestone. I don't trust the drivers on the roads these days, go ahead and call me a daisy!

Not me, Cragar, I will never dis you for making sound safety decisions. After 50 years on bikes I have developed what I call "Stupidity radar", where I can just sense who is about to do something dumb and what that dumb thing is. Still, I am sometimes amazed at just how idiotic drivers can be.
